General Talk / Re: Prayers for StephKillsit
« on: June 21, 2017, 04:24:21 PM »
Dry bones and I are visiting Steph right now.  She is such a joy to see and is in good spirits.  She says it makes her happy when people visit her so if you get the chance to come out to see her, I highly recommend it. She is in therapy right now using the walker and is getting better every day.  She says she remembers us from Albion and Gimme Shelter, which makes me happy.  Thank you to everyone who kept us informed on her progress.

And while you're at it, I wouldn't absolve Morro Bay Landing of any wrongdoing either.

Am I missing something?  What did Morro Bay Landing do that was wrong?
I consider Glenn a friend but that is besides the point.
They are the booking agent.   They still have responsibility.

-Allen

Seems to me that the decision to cancel the trip was beyond their control.  Unless you think there was something more that they could have done to make the Black Pearl live up to their responsibilities, they did nothing wrong.

It doesn't matter if it was beyond their control or not.  Let's say I hire a general contractor to do some work on my house.  They sub-contract out, but due to the sub-contractor flaking out, the job doesn't get done.  Who is responsible?  The general contractor is responsible to me.  The sub-contractor is responsible to the to general.

One might view it as they did nothing wrong in the sense of malicious intent, but they partnered with the Black Pearl, they were the party taking the money, and that makes them guilty by association.  Do I feel for them?  Sure.  But they should take some heat for this.  It's business.

As for "rolling with it", well, I got no skin in this game.  But I feel for the guys that were cancelled on for the trip that was supposed to happen this weekend were informed about the cancellation last week.

-Allen

I just think that the "heat" should stay focused on the Black Pearl, where it belongs.  One might view that the OP may have some accountability also, as he advertised for the trip, making him guilty by association, but that would be wrong.

Site Discussion / Re: [SITE] Any upgrades you'd like to see?
« on: January 23, 2014, 02:36:42 PM »
Can you make a testing forum where we can see what our posts will look like before posting to the main board?  That way we can see if the lay-out of pics, vids, emoticons, etc are to our liking and we can see if new devices like tablets and tapatalk work.   Just a suggestion.

Thanks!  I had a $9 rebate gift card I needed to spend.  Perfect.
Which design did you get?  Was getting two Hoo Rags a mistake or should I expect two?

Make us proud Rob!  I'm in for 1 day lodging/$40.
Good luck!

Hi Jeff.  I found this site and they seem to have good prices and free shipping.  You can choose the AH vs. weight.  Hope this helps.

Thank you Eric for hosting such an awesome event!  Sorry for the late post but I was having trouble posting pictures.  Thank you Rshu for sponsoring us also.  Here's a pic of ATD's Salmon and Big Jim rescuing our lost crab pot.  Thanks Big Jim!  I had a great time meeting and fishing with all of you.  I look forwards to next years event!
