I forgot my phone in my car so I did not take any pics (the ones I am using are not mine). All credit goes to the owners. Without pics it didn't happen.

I launched just North of Isleton across from the Ryde Hotel at the Ko-Ket resort (RV park). I launched at 8:15 am for $5.00. The owner is very nice. The water was around 66F with the tide going out.

Most of the PB's were trolling for Salmon. I only heard of 1 being landed.

I was after Striper, so I stayed out of their way. Harry (my dog) and I paddled a little north and found a decent place to anchor. Using chicken liver on a Carolina rig I caught a few 8-10" Splittails to use as bait.

Once I had a few I switched to my Stripper pole and started fishing. It was slow going at first, but about an hour before the tide shifted directions the Striper started hitting hard. About about an hour later I was out of splittail so I switched back to chicken liver, but had no luck.

I landed 4 stripers ranging from 16-24".

This was my 4th time kayak fishing so I am very happy to have put a little blood on the deck.

Try up at Freeport for big stripers. You can get into some 10-30# bass on split tails up there.

That's a great way to get into some big stripers but you should be careful about how many a "few" is.  I believe the rule is 2 split tails per person is the limit.  Anyways, awesome job with the minnows they are great bait, I never would of thought chicken livers would get em.  I always use worms dug up from my back yard.

Thanks for the report Dann! I have launched out of Koket before too and they are very nice there. Good of ya for getting out there and tryin. That is a nice area! One time I was just being lazy and floating around and I saw a family of coyotes just walking along the shore, it was pretty awesome.

Nice Dann,
I fished Walnut Grove last weekend with no luck but did get to see one salmon landed.  Were there anyone fishing salmon in your area?

Pretty much all day there was PB's going up and down past me trolling for salmon.

I did see a couple of Kayakers in Hobies pass by. No one stopped and talked though.
