i used clear gorrilla tape over my stickers, working so far

thanks, how much beyond the sticker do you go? 1" 2"
I still have the original sticker, so I'm thinking I might just re-clean the surface and attach with Gorilla tape

1 inch and 1 inch overlaps, then i cut around it, but I dont actually think ive used it on the textured part... I think I only hit the smooth parts on my outback, maybe just use a larger border then 1" to make sure no water can creep in there.

how to keep the stickers applied on the bumpy surfaces of the kayak?

A small line of super glue around the perimeter edge has worked pretty well, but it is on my spare kayak which doesn’t see near as much service as my main ‘yak. YMMV.
