I know this is difficult to tell from the picture, but, would you call this a red Tide?
Water has redish brown color.
Haven't seen a red Tide in many years, and remember it being very muddy red.

Safety First / Shark Shield Questions ???

Living in fisherman's paradise has allowed me more water time than ever before (40-50 days last year). Unfortunately, with all this time on the water, i also logged my first (and second) encounter with the landlord. So after two encounters in one year, i think it may be time to think of a little more safety.
Please post your opinions on the Shark Shield pros and cons if you have direct experience with this product.
Also if you have any connection with this company

For Sale / GS Gear Swap/Sale

I have a bunch of misc fishing gear (mostly freshwater) that I won't be needing anytime soon. Figure with everyone in the cove for GS, it would be a good time to host a gear Sale/Swap here at the Tides Inn.
If you have gear to Sale/Swap, bring a towel, tarp or table and set up on the parking area (please keep your gear on your towel, tarp, or table)
I'm thinking Friday from 12:00 - 3:00 would be a good time.
This will allow for time on the water in the morning, and also will not interfere with the captains meeting.
Please post up if interested

Hobie Kayaks / Hobie round hatch ?????

So I've had the Revo-13 for almost a year.
I have opened the center hatch only 10-12 times max.
I am having trouble opening or closing the center round hatch. I have cleaned the gasket and the track as well as the area of contact. Is there a trick to proper operation? I can't believe that a company that sells this many kayaks can't supply a hatch that will work more than a dozen times or last more than a year.
Any positive input appreciated

After talking with the other Eric, we decided it would be nice to invite the local community to join us for the feast and festivities.

General Talk / Amazon Break kit question????

Anyone here use break kits from Amazon?
I have replaced the breaks twice on the Van since we have moved here, and now i need to do them a second time on Verna's Civic.

For Trade / GS Gear Swap/Sale

Way too much to list here, so figured I would host a gear swap at the Tides Inn during GS.

For Trade / Anyone need a cheap Yak Rack?

I built this rack to store my Revo-13 and Ultra 4.7 after I sold my trailer. Now that the yaks have a new rack on the wall, I no longer need it. Over $75 in PVC Pipes and Fittings, never glued (held together with screws).
Can be dissassembled and pick up at GS.

What is required to make a mobile friendly site?
I've seen sites the ask if you would like to make mobile friendly after clicking on them. Is this a difficult thing to accomplish?
Does this need to happen from the start, or can it be done after a site is established?
Also,
How difficult it is to add a web cam to existing site to show 30 sec clips recorded every 20-30 minutes?

General Talk / New brews in the Cove

Just wanted to let NCKA know about our new neighbors.
Gyppo Ale Mill ( www.gyppo.com ) had begun selling curb side 🍺 on Fridays and Saturdays from 2pm to 6pm. Gyppo should be completely open for full service (including dining) within the next month or so. The 🍺 list has a little something for everyone including Root beer for the kids (after dinning opens).
All beer is brewed on premises and I must say they have done a great job.
If you are coming to GS, be sure to check them out and let them know you are with NCKA, they are looking forward to meeting everyone.
