I have been silent for a while here not going out much anymore due to big waves. I take my dog to Rockaway Beach a lot to play and there were photographers there yesterday filming surfers with cleaner surf with overhead waves with about 7 to 8 foot faces (overhead). Linda mar and rockaway have been too big and sloppy most of the time. Seems like the surf is changing from a few years ago when there were a lot of flat days in December and January too.

Thank you for putting this together Keith. Even though Steven and I got skunked we had a fun day on the water and learned a lot from everyone. Now just looking forward to getting rid of the question mark that I put on my Slayer? tee shirt when I get my first keeper (haha). It was great seeing Ariel again and meet new people and the food was great!!!
I'll be back.

Costco is close. I can pick up some pizza.

This is great and paid for 2 shirts for me and my son. Tried hali fishing once with no luck.

Thanks for the report and good luck on your adventures. I bought some Rockfish from Dave in his little tiny boat a couple of years ago. He did say that he goes out 3 miles.

Maybe I will see you out there sometime. Nice video very inspiring. I setup my revo for sailing in October and brought it to pillar point for a test ride and made a few adjustments and the water was flat and zero wind that day and peddled back in. Haven't been crabbing this year and looks like it might be good this weekend. Traps and bait have been ready for a while.

Kayak Sailing / Re: Free Sailing Seminar?

Yes I have a revo with a sail and bought a furling kit and need help installing it. I even bought spring creek floats and don't know squat about sailing.
I just retired so can go almost any day, any time.
Live near princeton and want to practice there.
Thanks

Hi guys. I will be working today but Friday will be my last day before retirement.
I haven't been out much lately.
What is the initiation to become a loose screw. A few years ago I was told that you would hold my feet while I dig for deep clams.

Good luck and hope to see you soon.

Paulr
Initiation is simple.  Beat  Sonny on buying on the classified section or just get voted in.

Waiting for report. If I need to buy more than Sonny in classifieds I will need to continue working.
I will wait for the vote.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Crab bait cup contents?
« on: December 28, 2016, 10:52:24 PM »
I've tried different combinations that I think would work but nothing proven as far as I can tell. Popping open a can of cat food seems to be a good idea. I collect and freeze rockfish carcasses and tie them in my traps. Cut up squid and anchovy soaked in bacon grease is what I put in the bait jars. Sometimes I get nothing sometimes all of my traps have a dozen crabs in each after a 2 hour soak. If you find where the crabs are you can throw almost anything at them and you can have success. I believe that a greasy slick is good but still not sure what is best. I try to keep the cost down as much as I can.

If this has not been sold yet I can buy it this weekend

Will those grab rails work on a Jeep Patriot factory rood rack?

Don't know Glen. They came from REI so they might know
