General Talk / Anyone have advice for a trip to Ketchikan, Alaska?
« on: April 11, 2024, 10:46:48 AM »
Hey everyone! I am planning on booking a trip for 5 people for my bachelor party to Ketchikan, Alaska in July. I've never been before and the 4 other guys have not done much fishing at all. I wanted to do 2 fishing charters - One for salmon, one for rockfish/Halibut.

1.) Does anyone have any recommendations for charters or people they could connect me with up there?

2.) Does anyone have any general information/pieces of advice/recs for other things to do?

Thanks so much!

Hey everyone! I'm planning on fishing the Sonoma Coast for rockfish by launching from either Timber Cover or Ocean Cove from 8/11-8/13. My fiancee always feels more comfortable when I go with a partner so I am here to invite anyone that would like to join!

Thanks and good luck!

Planning on fishing tomorrow 7/3, don't know if I'll be launching from the boat ramp or behind MBK but would love some company! I'll probably be going for rockfish but may drift for some halibut as well if I find some bait!

PS does anyone know if people are still getting squid? Debating on bringing out the chains or not

Thanks!!

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Need some advice on an Old i12S
« on: October 21, 2020, 11:36:55 PM »
So my cousin gave me a lightly used 2007 Hobie i12s, the problem is that he lost the mirage drive that came with it. If I buy the newer mirage drives (180, GT) will I just have to deal with shaving down the pins? Or is there anything else I will have to do to make it work. If so is it better for me to just try and buy and older mirage drive? Thanks for the help in advance!

Hey everyone,

I'm a shore angler who recently got some offshore experience from a friend who had a boat. It was awesome not getting snagged constantly and pulling up limits way easier than on the shore. Unfortunately he moved away and sold his boat so I ned to figure out a way to get out there (hence the kayak forum). I'm hoping to get into kayaking and would love to get any advice from anyone. Looking forward to making my first purchase and getting out there with the rest of y'all.

Tight lines,

Poonsie
