General Talk / Re: The perfect kayak fishing rod?
« on: December 15, 2024, 02:04:37 PM »
Perfect rod has been made and sold for a while
UGLY Stick
Just pick the one to meet individual needs
They have a good selection and can set up separate rods for each different fish you are targeting

I will 2 nd for the Tragger.
Been thinking of finding a donation and taking the mechanism etc and make a bigger unit
Only thing with Tragger is cant leave out side the pellets crumble due to moisture
Love the set and forget

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: BAITSHARK Kayak Bait Bucket?
« on: November 13, 2024, 12:36:01 PM »
I use the frabil and keep it in the water while I'm drifting or moving slow (TONS of drag). If I'm in transport and need to make tracks I pick it up and store it aft. I've rigged a long air hose taped to it's rope with an air stone inside, and an air bubbler clipped onto the back of my seat. Keeps the bait frisky when I'm moving. Used that system all last year's works great.  I'd take a picture, but it's dumping outside!

That air hose is slick idea. Thanks for posting

Before sit on tops people fished from sit in very comfortable
Should really think about were you will be fishing and what for
Lake, river, ocean ?
Most sit on tops have way to much equipment loaded on them, to heavy , to slow for any distance
If piece of mind then outback
M2 cents

Stealth / Re: Stealth transport
« on: May 16, 2024, 11:12:31 AM »
Measure from CL of front bulkhead to CL of rear bulk head
Set your cross bars that distance apart Strap it down over the bulkhead and go

If roof length wont allow then fwd cross bar to me is most important To secure at bulkhead
Rear just becomes balance point

No bulk head then make a temp block to suport the hull so strap is solid

Cheers

General Talk / Re: Like to see this puppy on the Ocean
« on: March 01, 2024, 09:15:59 AM »
Interesting, innovation is alive and well BUT
First thing I see is the front of the rear portion is flat. To me you are pushing water not gliding over so will be slow IMO
Probably ok for fresh water use in flat calm water.
Not for ocean use IMO
The foot steering is interesting but mounted high ???
Maybe retrofit a sit on top ???
