Craftsmen's Corner / Spruced up my old gaff!« on: July 26, 2013, 08:00:40 PM »
My old gaff was begging for an updo and i had the afternoon off so i decided it was time. i sanded her all down and layed down some primer and black paint. I then wrapped the business end in grey 550 cord and the handle in neon green 550 cord. since the grey and green is my favorite color combo i figured why not! Im gonna keep my eyes open for a nice piece of hard wood dowel to put a new handle on it but this will work for now. i like the big loop handle cause it gives me a fail safe in case i get something that resembles the great white whale one day

For Sale / Wtb ok trident ultra 4.3« on: July 17, 2013, 03:03:24 PM »
Im looking to buy a used trident ultra 4.3. Color isnt important but would love camo :smt00. I live near Fortuna and im willing to travel a little ways to pick it up if the price is right. Rigged or not dosent matter cause thats half the fun is setting them up to your needs. I had a malibu for a while and just didnt like it so i rented the 4.3 and absolutely loved it. You can pm me or reply on this topic THANKS!

man it sure looks like a salmon with that long anal fin comparing to a steelhead. Either way great catch! Only way to truly know is that salmon have black mouths and steelhead have white mouths.

The little bit of rain we had over the weekend brought in some fresh fish and it was just enough to green up the river a little bit. Nothing like a little afternoon fishing after a hectic morning.

General Talk / Re: My Namesake« on: February 20, 2013, 02:33:30 PM »
I just lost my grandfather a week before thanksgiving to Liver cancer that spread like wildfire. His name was Bud Jones and he was a timber faller his whole life and loved hearing about my hunting and fishing stories since he was a outdoorsman himself. I have a tattoo in his memory and its a Giant redwood on my calf since he always told me about fallin the big wood! May the saw chips always fly papa!
