Worked all weekend as usual at Van Damme (Maintenance).   :poti Park was pretty full, as was the parking lot.  LOTS of kayakers and divers and happy campers.  Hope my Parks uniform didn't put anyone off.  :smt002

Worked Monday, Memorial Day, with the maintenance crew, cleaning all the heads and hauling garbage/recyling at Jughandle, Caspar, Russian Gulch, Mendocino Headlands, Big River, Van Damme and the Pigmy forest.  Not complaining.  Love my job.  Thanks for the job security, everyone.  :smt003

Feeling FATBH (flat ass tired, but happy) at the end of the day, when I met Doug (akagrumpy).  Great to meet you Doug, and thanks for the encouragement as I start fishing/diving.  (I'm an old newbie).

Then, to top it off, a total stranger walks up to us and hands my workin' pardner and I a nice fresh ab each, saying he was out ab diving for the first time, and it was his and his sons(?) first time camping at Van Damme, and thanks us for the great weekend.  I looked at the ab tags: #1 and #2.  It put a lump in my throat.  Ab sushi with Mariko that night.  :smt007

Thank you kind stranger, whoever you are, I salute you!  :smt006

P. S. Please rembember, folks, that I'm in Parks Maintenance, and am not a Ranger.  Rangers carry Glocks.
We carry Garbage.  :smt002

Just for fun, here's a couple of pics.  Gives new meaning to "those clowns at State Parks", don't it.  :smt002

 :smt006  Thanks Papa Frank!
Yep, that kindly ab diver really made our day.
By the way, we like fish, crab, and urchins too. :chef:

:smt003  Thanks Adam; Yep, I surely have a sense of humor.  One can't clean the heads in the campgrounds and haul garbage in a state parks "camp-monkey suit" without it. :smt002  But I don't get cynical.  The campers are generally so nice and appreciative that it's all worth it. :smt001
