Maybe a Risso’s dolphin?

I don’t believe so from the pictures I’ve seen of risso. All I saw was the blowhole. It was white  with a darker blue and it’s the only part that I actually saw. My buddy thought he heard a whale like a minute before we saw it and I saw it twice so I am sure it was a small whale and not a dolphin, the blow hole was way too big and not anything like a dolphin.  It looked like a big nose, I also didn’t see any fin afterwards.  I don’t know I’m gonna take my drone out to PP a couple times this week and see if I can see anything. I also saw it a 2 weeks ago n Monday when I went out fishing near the point, I heard something and looked behind me, and I just saw it going under but same thing I never saw a  fin afterwards, and it was really big to be a dolphin.

I live in Santa Cruz I have basically everything I need to dive. I haven’t dove in a few years, but I would love to get back into it. I’m actually going kayak fishing tomorrow off the point hoping to get some halibut, before rockfish season opens.

New to the forum, in the Santa Cruz area.
New to kayaking fishing but have been on the water and in it my whole life.
I just purchased a 12-foot west marine pompano from cl and took it out for a paddle last week for the first time. just to get a feel for the yak. it seems to track well. we had some bigger surf at the lane that was really cool to be outside the swell and watch the waves.  I can't wait to start fishing from it.
