Hi All - I am giving away the following items:

A Plano Tackle Box
An Engle Cooler with working air pump
Three reels (bought in Ohio for kids to fish at Walmart - they are cheap, i.e. would not use them in the ocean)
Garmin Fish Finder. I am not sure if this works. I upgraded to a Hook5. It's missing the wire to connect the battery to the unit, so I am unable to test it.

Text me at 415-218-4274 if you would like to pick any or all of these items up and I will send you my location. These items are free.

Hi All - I have two Pelican 136t Kayaks that work for flat water like lakes or very slow moving streams or rivers.  These are not sea worthy kayaks. I did modify one of them - it has 8 rails of mighty mount track, anchor trolly mounts, 2 rod holders in the back, and pad eyes to support a soft cooler if desired.

You can find the Craigslist links here:

DM me if interested.

« on: June 04, 2021, 07:46:52 PM »
Dumb question. When y’all launch from here, do you go under the Richmond Bridge? Is it freaky?

General Talk / Loch Lomond 5-31-2021
« on: May 31, 2021, 08:04:49 PM »
Went kayaking for pleasure with the fam. Passed a few kayak fisher folk. One landed three stripers, one hooked up with a few shaker halis. Lots of bait and a few bust ups on the way out to the Marin Islands.

General Talk / San Quentin Launch
« on: May 29, 2021, 08:59:27 AM »
Did an initial scout of the San Quentin launch site. Doesn’t look too bad getting to the water. Tide was about -1.6 when I visited. Anyone know if there’s a mud walk in store if you come back at low tide? Looked like the case but I wasn’t prepared to walk out there and get a real-time sample this AM.

General Talk / JMJ Wetsuits?
« on: April 20, 2021, 11:39:35 AM »
I just purchased a 5 MM Farmer John wetsuit from JMJ because they offer the ability to add relief zippers - the only wetsuit maker that I could find that does this at what seems like a reasonable price. My other wetsuits w/o the relief zipper were becoming a safety concern...  I'd love to know what to look out for, what's good about these suits, and what's not good about these suits. I did a quick search to see if anyone has commented on them before, but nada. If anyone has experience with these wetsuits, would you mind adding feedback here?

General Talk / Bilge Pump with Clips
« on: January 13, 2021, 03:10:09 PM »
Hi All - looking for a bilge pump with clips (manual obviously) so I can attach it inside the hull of the Revo. I've looked in all the expected places: ACK, Amazon, etc. It's hard to know what's good. I would prefer that the clips not require screwing into the kayak. While I've successfully drilled into the yak - I really hate it. Thanks for any recommendations ahead of time.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Skunked at Tomales
« on: July 18, 2020, 04:29:22 PM »
Launched at Tomales today and worked Tom’s point to Pelican Point for eight hours. No buts, no stripped bass.  I did manage to hook into an Angel Shark. Skunked two weeks in a row. Gotta be doing something wrong. If you got hints...

For Sale / GONE Free J-Hook Kayak Storage - Wall Mount
« on: March 22, 2020, 04:47:59 PM »
Hi All - if you would like a pair of J hooks to store your kayak on a wall or fence, I have a pair that you can pick up for free. I am in South Novato. Private message me if you are interested. They were on my fence for about a year outside. One of the screws will need to be replaced as it is stripped.

General Talk / Lowrance Hook2 - 5" or 7" - Hobie Revolution 13
« on: March 16, 2020, 09:25:05 PM »
For those of you that have Hook2s on their Hobie Revo 13's - did you get the 5" or the 7"? Is the 7" too big? Does the 7" event fit? Asking for a friend.

General Talk / Paradise Beach, Tiburon - Landing at Low Tide
« on: February 29, 2020, 02:34:42 PM »
I am thinking about going out from Paradise Beach in Tiburon tomorrow morning. When I come it will be low tide. Anyone have experience landing here at low tide? I'm trying to avoid a slog through stinky, soft, mucky, mud.
