I spent a few days bouncing around the eastern sierras in early July. Just about every lake was over capacity of water and the rivers/creeks were flowing high and dirty. It made it difficult to find places to fly fish but I was able to get in on a few spots. East walker was high but I caught a few fish in the spots I could reach. Owens kicked out a few small wild rainbows and browns along with a ton of big planters left over from independence day. I got a few casts in on some other smaller spots to include robinson creek. Everything produced fish but another 2 or 3 weeks and the fishing conditions should be in good shape over there.
Size 16 white Spanish bullet with a pink hot spot was the number one producer. Just about anything in black was picking up fish too with the dirty conditions.

Well, looks like they still won't upload correct. There are supposed to be a few decent 12 to 14in rainbows in there

Thanks for the report!
Was hoping to get to Bishop in August but looks like I have to delay another month.
Maybe the Owens will be fishable by then lol.
I was happy to hear the stocking is back up to near normal levels this year.

Hope to have something to share...

Does the White Spanish Bullet imitate a scud?
Headed to Crowley. Just finished tying a bunch of double bead-head chronomids.

Kinda I suppose but I know it's working pretty good this year. I didn't fish crowley but I did do very well on it in owens river so it might do alright in the lake.
