It turns out the foot cramps is from the full foot fins pockets  being too small.i dug out one of my older open heel fins and no foot cramp.so I'm taking it a tad too far when people say that you want it tight so it doesn't slip off

Had the same issue with the foot cramping cuz of the snug foot pocket.  when i upgraded fins, i bought something a little less snug and bought a pair of fin keepers.  red triangle has them on sale.  they were a great investment for me.

hope that helps!

+1  canning all the alberts is crazy tiring.  well worth it tho, they last for years!!  still have a few from a couple seasons ago.

don't worry DG, everything is delayed 1-2 months this year.  October will be the month they show up in full force and then you'll have ALOT more canning to do

For Sale / WTB - Tandem Kayak
« on: July 03, 2014, 06:11:14 PM »
Hello all!

My buddy and I have been shore-based freediving over the past year and a half.  Now that we're a little more comfortable diving deeper, a kayak sounds pretty efficient for a bunch of spots that we frequently dive.

Please let me know if you have any tandem kayaks that you are willing to part ways with.  We're pretty open to any brand/model in fair condition.  We will mainly be using as a dive platform.  I'm located in Santa Clara but definitely willing to drive a few hours for pick-up.  Trying to stay within our $600-$800 total budget.  Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,
Kevin

thanks for the report Dave!
that's a dope trailer set-up you have for the kayak too
+1. Is that home Made. If not, where's you get it?

It was an old catamaran trailer that a friend sold to me for 100 bucks, I think.  I cut the tongue down, cut off the rollers and stuff, rewired it, and built a box on it out of some old redwood from my neighbors fence (that I helped him take down).  Its really easy to convert any old light boat trailer to something like this.

What's funny is that on the day I finished I left it out front of my house.  When I came back it was sitting there mostly demolished.  My neighbor's son with his giant pickup didn't see it and ran into it.  I had to rebuild it again.  The kid paid for all the stuff.  He's a nice kid, but I couldn't figure out how he missed seeing a trailer.

woww at least it wasn't totaled!  hahaha
thanks for the feedback Dave

dope DIY camera holder.  did it affect your speargun balance/aim at all?  any big cons worth mentioning?
I did not notice any issues. If you let it hang on the float line it tilts to one side, but feels good holding underwater. I put the bracket inside the trigger guard and cut a notch out of it so my finger with gloves would not be in the way.  This turned out to be a very solid bracket for a cheap quick makeshift setup.

awesome.  thanks for the feedback DG
