The tightening screw for the GoPro, when using it with the GoPro mask, is between the mask and camera housing making it near impossible to get good and tight.
I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to tighten it down.
I decided to make the tightening knob extend beyond the housing to make the task easier, especially while wearing a pair of dive gloves.
Easier said than done.
The existing bolt is 10-32 thread, hex head, 1.5'' long.
I needed the same bolt, in stainless steel .5'' longer.
Good luck finding that. There just isn't anything under 1/4'' in a SS hex head. Zinc yes, SS no.
Time to improvise.
I did find a 2'', SS, 10-32 thread screw.
I filed down the sides of the screw so it had basically the same dimensions as the hex head and would fit in the GoPro knob.
I used a 1/2 long 10-32 threaded aluminum spacer.
I recommend using a threaded spacer as this helps keep the screw from turning.
Even though I filed it to resemble a hex head, it's possible that over time it could wear the inside of the knob so the screw would spin. The threaded spacer keeps it from dong this.
The result is a knob I can easily get to, even with my gloves on.
Winna winna chicken dinna!
The first pic is of the GoPro bolt and the screw I replaced it with.
The 2nd is the final outcome.

I don't have a go pro or mask but if I do get one I know there are modifying instructions.  Let us know how it works out.  I made my mount with stainless parts so I thought and the two wing nuts apparently were not because they are rusted and other parts are not.
