Went to Shaver Lake with my brother and caught two browns. He caught one rainbow. We used fly rods in Outbacks.

I have kayaks in the Clovis area. May be sometime we can hookup and fish. I am trying to figure this kayak fishing out also. Have had some luck with trout in the lakes. But, would like to try the delta for Stripers.

You can use the kayaks to get to the fishing areas. It allows you to fish more of the river in a day. I have fished Stripers with some luck.

Fished the American River these past few days, but limited action. My buddy caught one nice Steelhead. Used a small Jon boat 52Â”x95Â” to navigate the river. Make a steady casting platform. My brother and friend used a raft.

Hopefully, the bite will be better next go round.

Our family coleman camped outside Chester on Warner Creek. It was a great camping spot along side the creek for our kids. Bears frequented the area, even during the day. I caught some nice fish with a spinner and fly fishing. I was told that huge browns were caught in that area, in the fall, when they leave lake Almanor to spawn.

Kevin- May be we can hookup sometime and attempt Striper fishing around the Sherman Island or delta area. I really want to try fly fishing the delta for Stripers on my Hobie Outback kayak. I have caught several Stripers fly fishing, but not in delta. I live in Clovis, where do you live.

Thanks Kevin, you are the man. I will check in to it. I live in Clovis and love Striper fishing with my brother on the American River, in Sacramento. But, the American River water flow is around 8,000 cfs, to much water at this time.

Anyone fishing for delta Stripers? I would love to fly fish for Stripers out of the kayak in the delta, but have no knowledge or experience doing so. Has anyone taken on that challenge in the past or lately?
