General Talk / [Legal issue] Hit and run fraud
« on: September 06, 2017, 11:00:43 AM »

Hello All,

'looking for some advice.  An older close family friend had been accused of a hit-n-run at a parking lot.  The police had sent them a letter that they have an independent witness, picture of their car at the scene (but not the actual act) and filed complaint.  However, the friend was definitely NOT at fault, although she was at the same complex around the time and had a friend that can testify to her innocent (albeit an older lady, who I am not sure can withstand a witness shakedown).

So, the question is, what should be done next?  One of their kid had gone to the police to ask for details, but the police had not been helpful and made any supporting docs available.  The police even told him to get the insurance folks to deal with it.  Worst, the police said that if he keeps going on insisting for discovery, the police will have to write her up a ticket with possibility of losing at the court (therefore having a criminal record for hit and run).

The main concerns are 1) The insurance will settle and took the rate way high and 2) how to avoid this in the future as the area is her usual local grocery store .  At this point, the only thing they have is the letter from the police, no other docs/evidence.

     What do you all think?

Decided to go on a whim, headed toward Bolinas, but made a last minute turn to HMB so I can be on time for the early bite.

Caught a fat 23" salmon at 7.15am, about 50 yards SW of the jaws, WMA, 20 ft down, 35 FOW.  Baits all over the place, most toward the beach, south east of jaws.  The bait balls near the jaws are invested with croakers.   Tried for the devil fish until noon, but no dice.  Foggy and cloudy all the day, water temp had cooled a bit from previous week.

Hot bite in the morning, lots of NCKA-ers with at least one.  Bite basically died at about 9.30am.

Thank you for all the reports that NCKA-ers did, I was there because of you and your reports (and your pics!) and I hope all the NCKA-ers I met today caught something and/or limits!

Extra special thanks to Aviv and friend (sorry, didn't catch your name).    First, they save my net ..... THEN ..... helped me net my fish .... THEN .... saved my lunch .... AND ... basically saved my sushi.  Me, myself, and I (and my fam), thank you again!  I hope you guys got your devil fish.

General Talk / Huli Cat - 2 spots for this Saturday, 8/5, HMB
« on: August 02, 2017, 03:28:03 PM »

Looks like I won't be able to go on Huli Cat this Saturday.  Before I call them and tell them I can't make it, anybody interested in the spots?  It is a reservation for two people and many many boats are booked to 2nd week of August because of the hot bites.  Let me know or PM me, we will have to synch the call so once I cancel, you can call in to reserve the spots.

I will cancel the spots tomorrow by 11am, unless there is any interest on the spots.
