For Sale / Two 2019 Hobie Outbacks
« on: December 19, 2020, 09:12:21 PM »
Ok, here they are finally!   I am selling both of my 2019 Hobie Outbacks.   Red one and Slate Blue one.   They each are equipped with the Hobie paddles,  Mirage 180 drives and the Vantage Seats.  However.... these are fishing machines!  Ready for fishing the minute you purchase.   Here are the upgrades and accessories.....
RED KAYAK:  Lowrance Elite 4 Chirp GPS fish finder with mount,  12v battery, Hobie battery mount.   NRS bladder bags,  Yak Attack lighted flag pole, 1.5 pound anchor and anchor trolley(not pictured), all terrain non-Hobie scupper cart,  SS fish stringer,  many rod holders and mounts.
BLUE KAYAK:   Hummingbird Helix 5 Chirp GPS fish finder with mount,  12v battery,  Hobie battery mount. Sevylor 12 pound thrust trolling motor(made from Hobie mirage drive cassette),  NRS bladder bags,  Yak Attack lighted flag pole,  1.5 pound anchor and anchor trolley(not pictured), Hobie Scupper Cart,  Scotty Lake Troller down rigger with 3 pound ball, manual bilge pump,  many rod holders and mounts.
Accessories value over $1,200.00.
Custom kayak rack fits most trucks with shorter beds.   We would prefer to sell kayaks together. Along with the truck rack.   Both kayaks together,  all accessories, and rack for truck, we are asking $6,700.00.
If you want both kayaks, no accessories, no rack(just like if you went to Hobie dealer and purchased them)  $2,800.00 each.   If for some chance, we have to separate the kayaks,  and you want all accessories....$3,300.00. Again, rather  not do the latter.   We are selling them because my wife would rather take out our boat, plus, we never used the kayaks once in 2020!  I am probably missing some accessories, if i think if them, I'll update the post.  Also, i am having difficulty posting this ad with pictures.   So please be patient,  ill post this, and ad pictures afterwards.  Thanks!  PS..... THE TRAILER THE KAYAKS ARE ON IS NOT FOR SALE!

For Sale / Re: Shark Shield Freedom 7
« on: December 17, 2020, 06:43:37 PM »
Hey guys, sorry I've been real busy at work and I still have a lost shark shield in transit. I'm still thinking of selling both my kayaks (red& blue)but I'm still in the process of sorting out all our gear. I would like to sell both at the same due to a double rack I made which fits both kayaks but can also sell individually. I will most likely post this Saturday when I have time to take pics.

For Sale / Shark Shield Freedom 7
« on: December 06, 2020, 03:39:11 PM »
Hello, I bought two used SS Freedom 7  last year for my wife and I. We used them once last year, but with covid this year ,we haven't been out kayaking at all this year. We'll most likely take our boat for the ocean anyways. No issues with either of them.  I will take $350/ea. or if you want both, I'll take $680 for both.

We are also in the process of selling either one or both of our 2019 outbacks, fully rigged, stay tuned.

I have 2 hives buzzing in my backyard.  Fun, fascinating, rewarding, frustrating all at once.  When things go well, everyone gets lots of honey for Christmas gifts.  When thing don’t go well, you question everything you’ve been doing and wonder what you could have done differently.  In reality, bees just do their thing.  hopefully they like you & your property so they stick around for a few years.

Good luck!  Tons of great resources out there.  Look up your local beekeepers association to meet other beekeepers in your neighborhood.  It’s nice to have someone to talk to about what’s going on in your area with other hives.

Well said! About 8 yrs ago, a friend and I started in beekeeping, hoping for something to maybe get into as a side business. The plan was to get enough bee hives to rent out for pollination.  My dad's side were farmers so we had an easy way in. We took classes, reared Queen's to build up our hives. It was a lot of work for a hobby with no income from the bees. The short story was it seemed that in the winter, we probably lost at least 30-40% of our hives due to diseases or they just left the hive, maybe CCD? Then one spring when we were trying to build up more hives, there was a field fire which burnt about 20 of our hives. We called it quits. I think 2 hives would be feasible though. We didn't suit up or use smoke too much, you can usually tell when some hives have an attitude. Light colored clothes, long sleeve and pants is usually what we wore. Good luck!

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: East cape gear

Looks like the water was calm for you guys. And you brought a ff? Nice! I was thinking of trying to get one over there but our luggage seems to always be around the weight limit with all the tackle and rods I already bring! Were you north of Buenavista? Looks like you were close to a hotel with a volleyball net on the beach. We're always looking at different Airbnb houses with yaks included.

Thanks for the report, makes you want to back doesn't it? Did your hotel or house rental have the kayaks? Our trip was not as great as years past. Cancelled airline,so we got to our destination too late to fish as we planned. We did a panga the next day. We couldn't find the tuna or mahi, so we went back to the shoreline and caught some Sierra, one Jack Crevalle and brought in one Roosterfish.  Was able to kayak the next day but kind of slow, couple of triggerfish and pufferfish. Was able to land a mahi trolling a frozen bait from the panga the day before. Then hurricane Lorena came in, we were'nt able to fish the next day. We lost power overnight and most of the next day when we left, so we weren't able to take our fish home. Hopefully the cleaning lady took it home. Oh well, we'll look forward to next year!
We tried for salmon yesterday at hmb , no luck for us.

Yeah on the barbless. They're a pain to get off the hook with a barb.

14
Yup, that was us.

I was out there, hmb, with my wife also. Pretty slow. Was wondering how others did since we got out there late, 8:30am. Couldn't ask for better weather though.  No strikes trolling except an undersized ling. Ended up switching to rockfish and a bunch of undersized ling's. Thanks for the report.
