Thinking of doing a boat in trip at Tomales bay 6/23 - 6/25 before the end of crab season. Not really sure if they will be catch-able by then, but it's my fantasy catch and cook crab camping weekend so I'm going to try.  Should be rock crab if no dungies want to play. Halibut hunting as well during the day would be fun too. Not sure of the weather at all, I've only been there once.  So this would come down to being weather dependent possible FnC.  If not that weekend, for sure still going to do this once if not twice this year.

That’s the weekend I leave for Japan, otherwise I’d join you.  I usually book in late July or August when it’s a little cooler.

I would be interested, not sure if reservations are open, I think they do have walk in space open. I know they also have the Olema campground open. Have you made reservations? Let me know, what site were you planning on, Marshall beach or another one, Ron.

I believe he’s talking about boat-in camping.  Each reservation is good for 6 people, caveat is you must launch and camp at a beach across from Tomales.  Most people typically launch from Nicks cove and camp at any of the beaches directly across from the launch (except Pelican beach/point, that’s a bird sanctuary).

Can't commit for sure yet since I've got a hectic few months ahead of me but going to put this on my calendar and will try to make it this year.  Thanks for setting this up Al.  Is this a group campsite or do we make individual reservations?

It's a permit process, I'll need to figure out the details but believe it's something like a 6 person permit?  If we need an additional permit, maybe someone else could buy a second.  Will look into it further
