General Talk / need fishing guide in orlando
« on: January 07, 2016, 10:06:15 AM »
hey guys,
gonna be in orlando next month with the fam and need to escape for a day to fish.  can anyone recommend a fishing guide in the area that they've used?  i tried chuck pippin, but he's already booked.  due to time constraints, i figure half day bass boat would be my best bet.  kayak fishing sounds fun in the rivers/lagoons too, but it would probably take more time.  if all else fails, i'll fish from shore in disney   :smt044

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Braid to downrigger spool
« on: December 06, 2015, 09:21:14 PM »
How should I attach the braid to the laketroller spool?  I can't remember how the cable was attached via the two holes.  Or should I arbor knot some mono to fill the spool a bit then attach the 80# braid like I do on my reels?

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / EGO net durability
« on: August 25, 2015, 10:59:10 PM »
Had mine since the GS8 group buy, and now it's broken.  The red grip portion with button seems to be held in place to the sliding tube with glue (beneath the button area) and a single rivet towards the rear.  It's no longer held in one place (rivet broke??).  Anyone have this issue before?  I think I only used the slider once or twice when netting a fish (salmon).  :smt013

How's yours holding up???

I know most will be at LS or Berry this weekend.... Anyone planning on getting some butts this weekend in the bay?  Tides may not be ideal, but don't mind killing some time on the water.  If not, then I'll probably hit up a lake.

General Talk / Walmart surprise
« on: December 17, 2014, 03:18:47 PM »
Haven't checked out ammo at WM Milpitas in a long time until today.  Last time I went, they reduced the cabinet to a small shelf beneath the cashier.  To my surprise, they now have 2 big glass cabinets (that you can walk up to) with various ammo in stock with decent prices.  I picked up some .40 whitebox on rollback for $32+ for 100 rounds.  9mm had a similar rollback price.  Only thing I didn't see was 22LR... LOL.  :smt066
