Title: Transporting my Radar 135
Post by: E Kayaker on June 13, 2019, 06:38:34 PM
I’ve got a rack to hold it in my truck bed. It needs more work but it’s good enough for now. I thought the saddles would work for the front but at the very least they need to be set wider than my Thresher.

I’m wondering if I should remove the seat for transport. How do you transport yours? Seat in or out?

Is there any possibility the seat might fly free in transport?
How much does a replacement seat cost?

I usually put the seat in for transport for the launch and remove it for the ride home. Mostly for cleaning purposes. I know a guy who never removes the seat as well.

I suppose anything is possible. I’m more concerned about wind damage though. It’s not small and I’m not looking forward to finding a spot for it in an already fully loaded truck.

One each way! I have a trailer and haul mine gunwales down, Native Slayer the seat stays in and I bungee it back, the Native Mariner is a different design and it goes in the pull rig. My Jackson Big Tuna both seats or also in the pull rig. Can you haul upside down? Not sure exactly what your working with.

No I’ve just built a setup to haul seat up. I could put it in backwards so the wind pushes it closed instead of open.

Am I to assume it’s the newer stadium style seat? If so is there enough strap on the back adjustment to simply lay the seat down? That’s how my Slayer rides but since it’s upside down the seat back won’t stay back without the bungee, mine seat is also bolted to the rails up front so unless it’s loosened up first it can’t come off. Again not familiar with that ride except online pictures.
