I guess the most important question in all of this is how do you like the new ride? Was that the maiden voyage?

Its a great boat, pretty fast. Ive taken it out several times now and did about 6 miles last week to get familiar

how was the launch out of there ..always wondered ...

Its similar to bolinas id say. Its sheltered by point reyes so its usually pretty easy... just have to time the sets. The second half of the trail to the beach is really soft sand so you need wheeleez or plan on dragging the kayak like 100ft

How cool is that! What did you do logistically for a shuttle back?

My girlfriend picked me up and drove me back to the truck

I was trolling about half the time with a sp minnow for whatever would hit it… also tried fishing swimbaits at different areas and trolling for halibut at bolinas fo nada.

I ended up grabbing a tarpon 160 off craigslist on a whim. Took it on the american to test out and practice self rescue… i have never paddled a fast boat so i cant really compare it to anything but i must say im impressed. Loving it actually!

I'm no Mathamagician but is that 15.5' Kaskazi really only 1400$?  That's a pretty sweet ride.

Yeah, but if you want that price you probably have to fly to S. Africa and then paddle it home. Their website does not list any US distributors, and shipping ain't cheap unless you can fill an entire container, then it still isn't cheap.

Now thats a real long distance paddle

I ordered a Stealth Fisha 500 that should be here soon from South Africa. I’m in Petaluma. Just over 16 feet. Sixty pounds. This is the fastest sit on top for its class. You can come over and check it out when it’s here. Take it down to the Marina here and try it.

Do you mind sharing the price? Id love to get a stealth but I cant justify something pricey unless I sell my hobie. And i dont want to sell my hobie haha

Gabe,

Build one! if you didn't worry about the peddle drive or the rudder you could replicate mine for less than $1000 and about a month of evenings and weekends.
