Howdy!  Launched from Fort Ross at 7am,(27 kayaks launched over the next two hours). Lower lot stayed full but people kept it moving pretty good. Condition wise, wind blowing North, rainy, seas 3’2 with 12 second period.  Launch went well though I was concerned with my pig of a PA14 through the wide surf but timed it well. I went north to a few previously marked spots and really had to work for solid bites today.  Picked up some canaries, a nice olive, a copper, black and blues. Had a good battle with a really nice hitchhiker Ling who bit a good sized blue, never hooked though and she let go before netting.  Got one other short ling, released.  Rain and wind picked up and with tide rising and the wave interval i figured landing may be sportier. Those long period waves move a lot of water up on the beach so it can be tricky especially in a heavy slow kayak (like mine).  I got lucky and managed to brace well as I got pushed sideways.  Stayed upright, lost no gear.  Good times.

Brother! Where were you at? Lol I was south today towards Sandy cove or the southern reef. Caught some fat gophers! And a Ling. I heard Scotty and nando on the radio but they weren't responding to my hail, I'm just not cool enough yet lol. I guess you floated with the FNS folks up north, I was the only one south with some pb-ers, conditions were better south and the h2o was cleaner. Let's hook up next time, tight lines!

Sorry Pernell, didn’t hear ur call, took my hearing aids out for a good time when I was OTW…
But the conditions made it harder than I expected!
That drizzle fog and wind were  annoying…
Between the wind and drift we were going north so fast ,it sucked.
Fished with nando andNapaJustin most of the day! Quite a big fleet out there sat!
Ended up with a descent stinger ,8 rockies and 1 Ling, nothing  fancy but  many fillets for the freezer!

Nice work boys in less than favorable conditions.   A couple of fish tacos.

Nice report, sounds like a good day on the water.  Looking forward to take my pig of a PA14 up there sometime.
