I was wondering where some of you guys keep your portable gps.I was thinking about liping it to my pfd but I don't want to many  things dangling from me since I have my VHF on there already.but if I keep it on the yak and if I fall and can't catch my yak then that'll be no use

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / trying pvc mod for my trailer
« on: May 20, 2012, 06:24:17 PM »
well after some research and a very helpful and resorceful mr.atavuss,im trying the pvc setup that atavuss posted the link.im a little worried about the lenth of the front it might be to short.ill just have to keep an eye on it this next week.its very simple, all i did was just got two 1-1/2 inch pvc tubes and screwed them to the bunks of my trailer, glued the carpet and i was done.if your math is better than mine youll get it done alot quicker

Since I put this post up I've made some changes to my pipes.the pipes in the pics are5-8" I've pulled them off I now have 8' pipes and I put end caps on the back.the old pipes were bolted down from the inside.the new pipes are held down by 8 L brackets.only thing with this is I'm worried about the side flex might wear down the brackets

General Talk / Kayak names,registrations ?
« on: May 02, 2012, 08:12:42 PM »
I was just thinking this is a kayak site but during registration it doesn't ask about the yak.what type name etc.now what if your like me and name our yak and come across someone with the same name.what you do then.does the one with more time with the site keep the name or do we paddle out to open water and try knocking the other off the yak.or we go old school and bear knuckle brawl like the old days and so on.back in my street racing days when two team meet and they have the same name they race for the right to keep the name.it's not that serious,I was just thinking out load thought maybe it might of cross someone else's mind also.if anything something to occupy your mind when your stuck in traffic :smt001
