General Talk / Re: Stuff I learned registering my new kayak trailer at the DMV today« on: April 05, 2024, 08:07:32 AM »
Thanks, this information would have helped me when I registered my utility trailer a couple years ago. The only difference was i bought the trailer from out of state, so they wanted to have the vin verification done prior to letting me register it. I went through the same hassle you experienced.

General Talk / Re: Registering Kayak with DMV« on: March 22, 2024, 06:01:20 AM »
I agree with others it depends on which DMV you go to and which employee helps you. In my case, I was required to provide a signed copy of my MSO. They would not accept the emailed copy Hobie sent me so I had to go back to Kayak city and have the manager sign it as true and correct.
I was not charged the sales tax a second time once I submitted a copy of my original sales receipt. They also did not try to charge me for back registration even though I had owned my kayak for a couple years before applying for my CF numbers. |
