My buddy Bob and I will be fishing out of Ft. Ross on Saturday. We should be there between 6:00 and 7:00AM. Probably closer to 7:00.  :smt003

Anybody else gonna be around that day?

One yellow Caper and a blue Drifter.

Hit Spring Lake again with the ultra-lites on Sunday, then again on Wednesday. Fished mini-crawlers about 2.5' - 3' under a small bobber, weightless. Fished a bunch of different areas on the East side of the lake on Sunday, with my boy Monte and our friend Dermot. Dermot rented a yak and just paddled, but Monte and I landed 15-20 little green sunfish, with a couple of redears thrown in. Still looking for the monsters, though, and the biggest on Sunday was a skinny 6"er. Still a lot of fun on the UL's, and on Wednesday they averaged ~6" and the biggest one was close to 8".

Fished the same set-ups on Wednesday at the same little cove. Was with my friend Bob this time and we each got about 20 - 30, and as the afternoon wore on the fish got a little bigger - with the 8"er being one of the last fish caught.

We fished for about 1.5 hours on Sunday and just under 3 hours on Wednesday. All fish were released. Nobody targetted bass either day.

Here's a pic of Bob with the average size fish on Wednesday.

Did anybody make it out there this past week-end?

Fished Spring Lake yesterday evening from about 3:30PM 'til a little after 7:00PM. Fished mini-crawlers about four feet under a small float. Used Shakespeare UL's with 4lb test and size 10 hooks.

What I thought were bluegills the other day were actually green sunfish. Yesterday my buddy and I caught about 30 each. From 3" little dinks up to about 7" little bruisers. Lotta fun on the UL's. We fished by the tules(?) around submerged logs.

Paddled Spring Lake on Tuesday from about 4:00 - 7:00PM. Went there more for the exercise than the fishing, but was pleasantly surprised by a wide open blue-gill bite.

Fished small red worms and mini-crawlers about 2.5' under a float, with size 10 hooks and a small splitshot to keep it down.

My buddy was also ropin' 'em with small red crappie jigs fished under a float.

Fished near the tules on the north-east side of the lake.

My first freshwater, kayak caught fish!

Also saw one ~14' bass landed on a dark (black, blue, or purple) Senko.
