Note to self: self, upon meeting Big Jim, don't shake his hand!  Fist bump, wave, stare down, or learn supersecretshake, but under no circumstances do you shake his hand.           After all, bmb said it best.


BTW, I just came across the SI magazine.  Sorry for the delay, I'll get it to you.

I don't remember the handshake being so manly at Shelter Cove but since he won the new yak look out.  He crushed my fingers early in the morning but I at least got a good grasp the second time (once bitten...)

I delivered the flying tiger yak that Sledge borrowed from the Fishmaster back to the Twin Lakes beach and dropped it off at the van with the red ratcheting straps. They belong to BigJim. 

I confess that after dropping it off I went back to park at the launch and didn't give it another thought.  I was distracted by all the food.  I'm glad it almost sorted itself out.

You guys are killing me!! 

I will do my best to be gentle with all my NCKA brethren from here on out!!

I guess I was lucky I was prepared. I'd been practicing with the bench vise in my workshop.

My hand still hurts from GS4...

 

I'm with bmBen - us married men gotta take care of our hands!   

...way back when, we had a kayak fishing tourney at Elk and one of our guests was this Nine-foot-Sheriff and that scared and intimidated many of us....we were told by the locals that he was a big gentle teddy bear....sure he was....until he started shaking hands.....I should have learned my lesson  

here's the infamous nine-foot-sheriff of Elk....(I think he'd give big Jim a dose of his own medicine )

I still have a mark on the inside of my fingers where he crushed my wedding ring into middle and pinky fingers. I almost let out a yelp but didn't want to sound like a puss. Guess I'm not the only one.

yeah, that sheriff is clearly a beast!

I recently got a Bigjim handshake at the Bean. No kidding, i secretly turned my back and and shaked my hand free of the pain aftwards!   

We should have him shake a empty beer can and see if it folds under.
