We've taken down some big Eucalyptus, all the way to cording and splitting -- that's a whole lot of work even with hydraulic splitters and chainsaws.  Never ceases to amaze me that people did this stuff pre-machinery.   =D

Congrats on a successful work party and hope the back recovers!

I got great news tonight. Some of you might remember that last month the property was almost hit by the Corral fire. Fortunately, we were spared but three of the neighbor's properties were not so lucky. One of those neighbors was a BLM plot that got burned pretty bad. The good news is that my forester landed the contract to go in and clean it up. It is great news for us because in trade for letting him haul the lumber out on our roads he will take his crew in to the Aspen grove and clear out the downed trees and add it to the BLM trees. That will save us a ton of work.
