For Sale / Rhino Rack T-Loader Canoe and Kayak Rack - $180
« on: April 05, 2019, 11:43:03 AM »
Having a hard time loading the fishing Kayak from side on top of car / SUV?
This was the solution and gave me huge piece of mind. No more worries about dropping the Kayak on the car and damage it.
Bought this in Feb 2018 for 280$ at Amazon.
Worked well, probably used 10-15 times.

Since then I bought finally a Truck, so I don't need this anymore and has been sitting in garage for last 6 months.

1 x Rhino-Rack Aero crossbar
Fits 50mm tow balls
Suits Rhino Aero and Heavy Duty Crossbars

See this video how it works:

Not sure I can make it by 7 PM.... if they have a gate and code they should leave the gate code with someone in the group we can contact. Or at least let people know who checked in.

Well,
just saw that the RV/Tent Site number 7 became available for the weekend... so I grabbed it and plan to drive there Friday late afternoon.
This is site which has 2 vehicles included.... if anyone wants to split the 80$ let me know and PM me.
Its just me in my Tacoma. Will bring a few gallons of good German Pilsner filled from my Kegorator... not much of a Potluck chef here.

Looks like I will be able to get away from work this Saturday/Sunday after all... anyone have any room for a Tacoma from Saturday to Sunday? I wont be able to make it Friday evening I plan to sleep in truck bed. Obviously I will cover the extra truck and part of the fee. PM me.
Never fished Berryessa nor havent caught anything to speak of this year... so, maybe I have more luck and learn from the guys who know how. And yes, I signed up for AOTY so I better catch a fish soon. Looking forward to FishmChil

Hello,
after having seen last years Release of Steelhead at THERMALITO AFTERBAY per

https://www.actionnewsnow.com/content/news/50K-Steelhead-Trout-released--478807693.html

I wonder whether I should give it a try assuming there should be plenty still held over?
Want to take my Kayak and with rivers now in pretty fast flow this would be much easier?

Or what are good Feather River launch spots to target Steelhead with a Kayak?

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Sportsman’s Expo
« on: January 18, 2019, 02:21:15 PM »
I did not see too many sales going on last year either.... but I ended up buying the KayakCity show model Compass a few weeks later for 200$ off. Was actually first time for me to see those heavy different fishing kayaks as I was ready to upgrade from my 300$ samsclub Kayak.
So, those kind of deals as well as the typical bundles will be offered if you look for new Yak.

Was cool though to see those YouTube fishing instructors in person, even though those events get pretty crowded.
For regular fishing gear sale its probably better to look for bigger sales events your favorite stores have. But its definitely a big show with lots of gear to check out.

yep, saw that these are compatible to  Scotty Backing Plate 441....  guess they did not patent that hole pattern as Railblaza is clearly going after Scotty replacement market.... and what is better argument than 'you can use those same holes'

For Sale / Railblaza Kayak Motor Mount on sale 60$ off at Gander Outdoors
« on: January 15, 2019, 04:01:17 PM »
Was eyeing one of these mounts for trolling motor for a while... and as they are never on sale was happy to see below sale... in case anyone else is also interested on the upgrade:

Railblaza Kayak Motor Mount
https://www.ganderoutdoors.com/product/details?pdesc=Railblaza-Kayak-Motor-Mount&i=254415&CAWELAID=120030640000012136&s_kwcid=adwords__&gclid=Cj0KCQiApvbhBRDXARIsALnNoK3D4rY-u3dSNrkMb2HIurXwM7RBUivk517lI0aaNP10Mvo9T2BN1q0aAl_xEALw_wcB

Supposed to be one of the higher quality item made by company known for quality items.
Not sure I will use trolling motor very often, but on long days knowing you have few miles back into wind this is good to have... and give my knees some rest. Can be easily installed and removed.

Pay It Forward / Re: Freitas Family Fundraiser 11/13/2018 - 12/9/2018

Done ...
my company has been matching any donations going to the Camp Fire victims. Another way to maximize the much needed help for the victims. This is not Santa Rosa/Napa Valley. Many will not have insurances cover their losses. This has to me much to common last 2 years. Terrible.

All the best to the Freitag family!

I had a great time!!!
Many firsts for me having never met any of you before but felt as if I had been with the group for a long time. Thanks again James for organizing and while planning the whole event also raising good money for a great cause! Food was delicious and company was great!
Hell hole seemed to not just me as rookie a hard time fishing. But at least I did catch my first Kokanee.
Looking forward to more events and hope to see many of you on the waters.

With all the great food I have seen I bet bears will check out our area....no bear lockers I assume as this is not an official campsite? anyone worried about the coolers etc? Cant really lift those up the trees scout style... and not recommended inside trucks.

Hunting season might keep them a bit at bay.... but do they know its hunting season ?  ;-)
