Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Matt's Hobie Adventure Rigging

I drilled (ouch) a big hole in the back of the kayak.  I installed a Scotty flush mount in the deck.  This is for my safety light.  I will also likely add a safety flag to the safety light.  It is an LED light, so I will simply leave it on for a day of fishing.  Never know when the fog could roll in!

how much was the light,i was thinking about getting one too.some of the people behind the wheels of powered boats are more dangerous than the ones behind the wheels of cars.but when i think about it might attract unwanted attention.imagine all those people on the water ways when they see the light in the distance and go whats that lets go check it out. :smt011

Just a quick dumb question how do you guys keep all those screws from rusting.I just got my pa back in January and I'm hesitant about putting too many screws in.so far I'm trying to put as little screws as needed

Now are you talking about open cell neoprene or the lined neoprene suits. I don't have an open cell suit so I couldn't say anything there but me and my buddies have 7ml pinnacle wetsuits.they wear there tighty whiteys where I go commando.Ive done both but I prefer letting it hang.when you get out that's one less thing you have to take off.and if your worried about mooning the public a beach towel always does the job for me

Hobie Kayaks / Re: Revolution 13 or Pro Angler?
« on: January 23, 2012, 06:51:37 PM »
I just bought a hobie pro angler and man that thing is heavy.you can't lift it on and off a car like the traditional kayak, well I can't anyways.but the only way that I've seen it done is with the outrigger bar and a modified rig on you tube.when I bought it the guy at the store help me loaded on my 4runner when I got it home I almost broke my back taking it down by my self.I'm saving up for a trailer.the hullavators won't work on the pro angler it's to wide.I wanted the pro angler because you can stand in it I'm not that well balance so I need the extra stability.but I think either one is a good yak pending on what your using it for.mines gonna go from coast to delta to lake.
