This is Los Alamitos Creek, just upstream from Almaden Lake in San Jose...

Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

Big fish in skinny water is always cool to watch
Wish there was more water

So very cool! Thanks for posting it.
Wish there were more fish.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

This is Los Alamitos Creek, just upstream from Almaden Lake in San Jose...

Lived across from Almaden Pond and have ridden the trails all the was up to Vasona, and down all the way to down town sj.  Pretty neat to see them that far up!  Usually only see carp when I lived there.  :smt044

Very cool. Crazy to think that they swim through Almaden lake. Would be wild for someone to hook up on a salmon while fishing for bass...

I like to visit Alameda creek to try to see the salmon. I went a little after Thanksgiving this year but they either weren't there yet or had already moved up the fish ladder.

They are also in Los Gatos creek.  Look up some of the work the South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition is doing.  In the past, they've even provide some guided viewing opportunities.

I've been away so long
I may go wrong and lose my way

Ironically the San Jose she sings of is gone, and now looks like the LA she referenced.

I know, not about Salmon, but you planted a song worm in my head.  Dionne Warwick in my head...could be worse.

They are also in Los Gatos creek.

Cool!

Our 2 favorite walking routes are the Los Gatos Creek trail and the (Los) Alamitos Creek trail. I'll keep an eye out, but I suspect they are harder to spot in LG Creek, as it usually has a lot more water than that thin ribbon of water that is Alamitos Creek

Map of chinook sightings in San Jose. I have salmon spawning within 5 blocks of my house, in 2 different directions in 2 different streams.

That's cool. I've saw them on occasion last year in the Guadalupe when going to a Sharks game. None this year though.

Once seen what i think was a steel head at Penitencia creek, across from Independence high school in the late 80's. Guessing , because it was so shallow there and was little bigger than a trout.
Enjoying the fam
