General Talk / Big Fish Pool for '05

Art,
Great idea.  $5 is bait money so that shouldn't break anyones bank.

Joel should be forced to pay $20, because he fishes at least 4 times the average person.

Places to Launch and Camp / A list of some Accessable Launch spots

Typically, if a spot is doable for shorediving, then is typically protected enough for kayakers.  Thought I'd post the above link.
Of these spots, I've been to:
#7 Gerstle Cove
#8 Stillwater Beach (Sonoma Co)
#9/#10 Fort Ross
#19 Stillwater Cove (Carmel) <-Haven't been there yet, but have heard good things.
Here's another page on Stillwater

#21 Carmel River North

General Talk / 2005 Rockfish Reg Update...LOTS OF GOOD NEWS (some bad)
« on: December 09, 2004, 02:13:12 PM »
Cabbies definitely have very delicate meat of the RCG family.  Greenling are very delicate too except they are SUPER BONY, therefore I toss them back.
To me its a toss up between a cab a ling, but given that you typically get more meat from a ling, I'd lean in that direction.  I too believe the texture of all the other's is not quite as delicate as these two fish.

One of my least favorite fish on the table is halibut.  Its ok cooked (a little too dry and bland), but I like it better raw.

Bill,

This site is great.  Glad to see Sean and Erik are already here.  Where is Joel???  I thought he'd have a dozen posts by now.

Can't wait to start posting reports!
