Taking my son fishing tomorrow 06SEP, His first time on the blue.  It's FREE fishing day to anyone without a license and he qualifies.

I hope he gets a nice fightin' lingcod so that he gets the bug and wants to go again.

Lingcod and Rockfish in the morning and then we'll go  after the Salmon.

I'm going to have to give it a try in San Rafael , Brickyards & definitely the Islands. I Went to Black Point on Sunday and caught the tide going in and started up river. Had a South wind and drifted down to Bahia. Turned up into that slough and fished for 3 hours catching only Bullheads for bait.

THE CURRENT was RIPPING...omg! It took an hour to get out of there. When I  got back to the river the wind had shifted and was coming from the north so getting back to Black Point was a breeze. there were nice little roller waves with some whitecaps.

I deployed my Sail and had fun tackin' and jibin' so even though I didn't have any Stripers I had a Great time sailing.

I've been fishing for Stripers in the Petaluma River launching from the Marina, and also Corte Madera Creek in Marin County.

I've also fished the mouth of the Petaluma down in Port Sonoma from the shoreline prior to getting the Hobie.

Where else, in the North Bay preferably ,can I catch some FAT Stripers?

I'm fishing Petaluma River today  17AUG.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Ocean Cove Salmon

I went out 02AUG and caught another 32 inch salmon mooching 'chovy in 145 feet of water at a depth of  apx. 100 feet...limited on ling and added some rockfish to the mix ...not a bad day(gopro2189)

I went fishing at Ocean Cove yesterday 16AUG and mooched another Salmon with anchovy in 165 feet of water at apx. 120 feet depth..That and a nice ling.

It was windy and I kept getting snagged on my drift, losing  6 or 7 setups , so that's when I decided to quit fishing for lingcod and headed out about a mile and a half  straight out of the cove ...maybe 2 miles.

The nice thing was I got there in a hurry because I had my sail with me . I had an awesome time Sailing and Fishing at Ocean Cove!

Oh yeah!...I met the NCKA Global Moderator "Tote"  . Just thought I'd mention since he told me he expected a post from me.

I think this is my 5th post Tote!

I was there 7/19 caught a 32 inch Salmon mooching 'chovy about 100 feet, and I caught limits of rock with 2 ling. (see pic)

The following weekend I went and caught a nice mixed bag of black and brown, 2 ling ,1 rock greenling and 1 cabazon, but no salmon.

I'll be there trying for my second salmon ever Saturday.
