After the Islander trip fell through I started looking into a Panama Trip. I have heard back from 2 different resorts. The first resort has smaller groups (4) while the second takes 6 to (9 kayak anglers) 16 total people. Both with travel and extra lodging will cost $2000-2500 depending on flight cost at the time of booking. Anyone interested in going this year or early next year?

The first is Panama Kayak Adventures.
Rates for a group of 4 angler is $1300/pers. for 5 full days of fishing.
Included: boat transportation from the meeting point to the lodge (1h), 5 full days of fishing with Hobie kayaks, captain and boat for repositioning, 6 nights at the lodge with 3 meals/day.
Not included: transportation from Panama city to the meeting point (we can organize it with a private van and driver $160/pers. both ways, 5 hours driving), alcoholic beverage (you can buy them on the way the first day and bring them to the lodge), fishing equipment (possibility to rent rods and reels for $20/pers./day), lures, tipping.

Typical program:
Day 1: early morning pick-up from your hotel in Panama city, private road transfer to the meeting point on the beach (5 hours), than boat transfer to the camp (1 hour), arrival in the early afternoon.
Day 2 to day 6: 5 full days of fishing, full-board.
Day 7: Departure from the camp en the morning by boat than road transfer to Panama city, arrival in Panama city in the afternoon.

The second is Los Buzos resort.
7 days, 6 nights, 5 days of activities
6 to 16 guests      Bunk house  $1360      Private room for 2 $1530
Maximum 9 kayak anglers
Maximum 6 panga anglers, minimum 2
All Packages include ground transportation from Panama City, 7 nights lodging, 5 days activity
All packages include continental breakfast, packed lunch, and cook your catch dinner (or chicken)
Kayak fishing packages include fish rigged Hobie Outback, sounder and pfd
Kayak packages include pilot out of inlet in AM and return in PM scheduled daily by tides.
All rooms are double occupancy or bunk rooms 3 to 5 per room
Non anglers receive one of the following each day subject to advance scheduling and seasonality:  4 hour mountain/beach horseback tour, half day SUP, half day guided reef walk/snorkel tour, 3 hour nature/waterfall hike, transport to world class surf breaks.

Optional Items at additional cost:

Lodging in Panama City if needed
Off site Panga mothership trips when space available
Massage services when scheduled in advance
Surfing or Paddle Boarding  (SUP) lessons
Tackle Package (jigging combo and casting combo) with lures a la carte

I might be interested for next year!  Looks like a blast at a reasonable price.

Depending on the size of the group will determine which we should go to.

You should check with http://www.paddlepanama.com/ as well.  We went with them last time.

If you're look purely at the fishing opportunities, go with Panama Kayak Adventures.  You'll be based at a remote location that doesn't get nearly the fishing pressure as the other locations.

I just this week booked our flights for our May trip with them.  SFO direct to PTY on Copa Airlines, $381 per person.  That's much much cheaper than normal, I was expecting more like $6-700.

I will be changing Companies this year so I will not be able to make a trip to Panama until 2018.

I am thinking June through August for a good time to go for a group of 4.
