What happened to 2022 DOTY ?

Is DOTY abandoned?
I see that AOTY has been updated recently, however there are no updates on DOTY since February....

The last post I found about DOTY was PK letting folks know that it would be free this year.

Then a few entries approved through February and then…. 

I also checked on the DOTY Instagram page where in recent years it seems like decisions have been made and updates announced and didn’t see anything there either.

I haven’t been involved in coordinating DOTY in several years, but I do still feel a small sense of responsibility for it since it was my idea back in 2011 to create it…

I’m all for letting it die and don’t personally have the time or energy or desire to keep it going…

But it just seems weird and feels wrong to do it after the year has started and people have already submitted entries…especially without any announcement or explanation to the NCKA community.

Unless anyone objects, I’ve asked PK to reinstate my admin rights to allow me to see what’s pending and approve the entries that have been submitted (unless they are horrible  ), and to keep an eye on submissions and approve them through the end of 2022.

After that it can just get archived and be a part of NCKA history where divers can look back and see what fish were taken and entered between 2012 and 2022.

Just went in and approved all pending entries. Feel bad for those guys that had stuff pending in there since May…
