Hi,
Fished west franks and east franks tract for nothing.  Fished 3hrs from our boat.  Water temp 56 with about 2 feet visibility.

Went around mandevile and had two bass. (2hrs)

Hopefully better for others

Good luck

Right now on ferry point pier. I’m just out for lunch run

We saw one boat who was bait fishing and doing well.  They were anchored.  These guys knew where to anchor and do well.

Other boats bait fishing maybe did ok.

We tried firetiger also-nothing.

The smaller jointed brown trout (j5?) or natural caught most of fish including the big one.

Once there was a little breeze on the water the bite started.

The bait guys in boats were doing well also

Hi,
I took my son trolling for trout from 10 to 1.  We caught five using rapala-brown trout pattern.  The last fish was a 10lber.

The key was 4lb line and a little breeze came up.

When I used to fish out of my inflatable kayak more I would need to pick days with low wind.  I use windfinder. Also launch at a place if the wind picks up you paddle with the wind back to launch.

I generally find shallow places to fish (less than 5 feet). You will be amazed how many big largemouth bass hangout in shallow water.

I also use a 5lb weight to hold my position and really work an area. When I use the weight I make sure it’s not in a ripping current.

I use my navionics to find the flats.  Sometimes it good to paddle around to find spots for next time.

Hi,
Took my son and his friend bass fishing around Frank’s tract.  Fishing was pretty good for largemouth bass.  Boys caught five each in four hours (size about 2 to 3 lbs).  All caught on wacky rig senko flipping around tules.

Hi,
Around the whistle buoy produced a lot of rockfish, we caught 4 limits in 3 hours.  Half the fish were caught mid-column and other half caught on bottom.  Shrimp fly tipped with squid caught the rockfish and we caught a few under size lingcod on swim bait and small rockfish.

A fishfinder was helpful.

The DFW was out on the water checking fishing licenses

Kids were happy with all the catching.

Good luck
Mark

Hi,
We fished little franks and Frank’s tracts from 11 to 3 today.  We caught one 16” striper on jerk bait and no largemouth bass.

We saw a number of bass boat at russos weighing their catch at 3pm today.

Hope that helps

My guess is that water won’t start clearing up for a few weeks as long as there are no big storms

Hi,
I took kids out and breaking in a new motor.

The water is very muddy. Visibility about a foot or less.

We just trolled but best bet would be soaking dough bait.

The trout tournament is today but didn’t see a lot of action.  Maybe other people did better.
Thanks
Mark

Piper point marina, but it’s bankers hours (not busy).

Russos is next door.  There are 3 to 4 parking spots on top of the levee; so you don’t need to carry up and down if you know what I mean.  It can get busy there especially with a bass tournament
