For Sale / $50 for set of 12” trailer wheels
« on: October 19, 2020, 10:21:40 AM »
I upgraded the wheel size on my trailer from 12” to 13” so I have the old wheels for sale. They’re from a 2017 Forest River Rockwood tent trailer and seem to have a lot of tread left. This trailer has been towed ~6 times. But they are the original tires which sat in the sun for 2yrs. I had a blowout three weeks ago but it may have been under-inflated. Tires are Ridgeway Sport ST size ST145/R12.
$50 for set of 3. The spare rim has major scuff marks and needs a new tread. Includes spare tire cover. Pick them up in Marina or nearby.

AOTY / Need help distributing AOTY & DOTY awards!
« on: August 17, 2020, 02:49:47 PM »
Since it looks like we won't have an awards ceremony this year, I need help distributing the AOTY & DOTY awards to last year's winners. Before I start sending each person an email/message, I'm posting here. I would prefer to deliver them myself or use NCKA Express instead of mailing the awards. There's about 45 awards in total.
I've been holding out hope that we would eventually have a proper awards ceremony, but I feel bad for hoarding these awesome works of art in my garage.

First place in both AOTY & DOTY won a custom Piscean redwood plaque (this year's are halibut-shaped and look badass).
Second & Third place in both AOTY & DOTY won custom framed prints from Amadeo Bachar.
The winner of biggest fish for each species in both AOTY & DOTY won custom matted prints from Amadeo Bachar.

So, if your name is on this list, let's figure out how to get this award to you asap!

For Sale / 2015 Hobie Revo 16 for $2100
« on: July 14, 2020, 10:02:10 AM »
EDIT: $2100
I’ve decided to sell my beloved Hobie Revolution 16. It’s a 2015 model in great condition and includes seat, mirage drive (turbo fins), H-rails along the tankwell, 2 Hobie rail adapters w/Scotty rod holders, and Lowrance Elite 5 FF/GPS with dual-scan transducer mounted in the Hobie transducer plate. The FF is attached using a Ram ball inside the sail mast hole and all thru-hull wires are waterproof. The battery box is secured inside the bow hatch and has standard SAE connectors (I have spare 9v 7.5a brick batteries if you need one). There’s also a Scotty base inside the starboard pocket. I will remove the Sin Coast decal but leave the other Amadeo fish decals. It has the sailing rudder and I’ll include the original mirage drive fins & rudder too.
I’m still open to trading for a 2015+ Revo 13 or possibly other pedal kayak.

Original post:
I’m downsizing... And I’d like to trade my 2015 Hobie Revo 16 for a Revo 13. It has to be a 2015 or newer.
Includes H-rails along the tankwell and Lowrance FF mounted to RAM ball in the sail post. And Scotty base in the side pocket. Dune color with turbo fins and sailing rudder.

General Talk / Lake McClure?
« on: June 17, 2020, 09:55:47 PM »
I’m going camping at McClure this wknd for the first time (due to reservations at Shaver getting cancelled). We’re staying at Barrett Cove and I’m bringing a couple kayaks. I’ll be fishing in the morning but mostly playing in the water with the kids. And I need to put my wife on a fish this wknd...I bought her a license this year and she still hasn’t caught anything!
Any tips on where to go or what to use?

For Sale / $3000 2006 Chrysler Pacifica
« on: June 03, 2020, 05:07:57 PM »
$3000
2006 Chrysler Pacifica
175k miles
3.5ltr V6
New tires
Third row folds down
Second row bucket seats fold down
No accidents & Clean title

We bought it used in 2007 with ~40k miles on it. Synthetic oil changes always on schedule and about $1500 in other repairs  along the way.

It has a few minor aesthetic issues—broken knob on seat & window control, cracked taillight housing (all still works fine) and a small bondo job on rear passenger side.

I’ve transported kayaks on the factory crossbars without problems. You need a J-rack to carry 2 kayaks though because it isn’t wide enough for 2 yaks side-by-side.
With the second & third rows folded down, you can fit an inflatable air mattress haha :-)

For Sale / Free: Outdoor fish cleaning station
« on: June 03, 2020, 03:40:19 PM »
I’m cleaning out the backyard.

Pros: Stainless top with unistrut frame. Two wash basins. Comes with an extra sink faucet. Plumbed to connect with normal garden hoses. Andy made it in 2011-ish :-)

Cons: It kinda sucks for cleaning fish though--the area to clean fish is only 20x18" and corrugated (not flat). I normally lay a section of plywood over the top and cut fish on that.

I was gonna use it for an outdoor bar but never got around to it. It would also make a good gardening/potting bench.
Located in Marina 93933. Its kind of dirty in the pic but I promise to hose it down before you pick it up haha :-)

Pay It Forward / Community Fundraiser for Marv!
« on: May 04, 2020, 11:15:38 AM »
Hey team,
It was brought to our attention that a member of our NCKA family might need help paying bills due to ongoing cancer treatment. So I rallied the Ahulls & AOTY/DOTY Committee to see how we could help. We unanimously approved a $1000 donation from the PIF fund, which is basically all we have left (minus $ set aside for awards). That’s partially because we didn’t host the big PIF fundraiser event last year (it’s scheduled for August 8 this year), so the fund is mostly AOTY entry fees at this point. Thanks to the NCKA express network (including Big Jim & Nate spinal tap), we were able to get the $ to him on Saturday.

I speak for everybody when I say I wish there was more we could do. So, we’re thinking about setting up a virtual kayak raffle or a gofundme account. He’s not the kind of guy who wants attention...but if you know Marv, you already know he’s one of the nicest, humblest, coolest, and most deserving of support.
Thank you.

For Sale / $800 Eddyline Caribbean 12
« on: April 18, 2020, 12:32:43 PM »
$800
I’m selling my red Eddyline Caribbean 12. I know I’ll regret this but I’m saving up for a newer camper for the family. This thing is a joy to paddle.
Specs say 12ft by 30” wide and 45lbs. But it feels a little bit heavier. Still very easy to pick up & carry around; partially due to the solid handles.

There’s an anchor trolley, 2 round Scotty flush mounts behind the seat, 1 Scotty deck mount on the console, Yakattack 6” track behind the seat, and tracks along the gunwales. So there’s a million different ways to setup your rod holders/fishfinder/camera/downrigger.
Already rigged with through-hull wiring kit in the console and in the tankwell. There are 2 round hatches and 1 bow hatch that access the inside of the hull for storage or rigging. The scupper holes are reinforced with an epoxy compound. Includes a basic surf to summit seat and a spare rod holder.

Here’s some more info: https://eddyline.com/kayak-model/caribbean-12-angler

Send me a message if you want more info!

This boat was stolen from a friend’s parking lot in Mountain View yesterday. It’s pretty recognizable. Let me know if you happen to see it anywhere. Thanks!
