General Talk / alaska kayak trip

Thinking about taking a trip to Alaska and try some kayak fishing for halibut, and salmon. I've been to Alaska ( Homer) several times. Tried to find a guide who kayaks with no luck. Also tried to find a Kayaking club in the area with same result nothing. A few months ago or longer I read a tex that was posted on NCKA about fishing trip in Alaska. Could not find it. Is there a kayak club in Alaska or a store/shop in Alaska not particular (Homer, Seward, Valdez, Kodiak) that can provide some guidance . Any help would be appreciated

Been hearing about several shark attack around the state. Started reading about the shark shield. Does anyone have and use one. Pro's and con's appreciated. Don't really think about sharks enjoying fishing from kayak. I know they could be around. Just curious. Thanks for the input.
