Wow the lake is full!

I took the stealth for an afternoon paddle at yorty creek. I even brought a fishing pole with me. The wind was ripping pretty well, which made fishing a little difficult. Steady 15mph with gusts to 30. I still averaged 4mph into the wind though!

The water was very high, most of the day use area was flooded. Water was pretty clear with temps in the low 60’s.

I was throwing small swimbaits at flooded trees and bushes. There were fish in all of them. Nothing big but a mix of lmb, smb, and crappie.

Now is really the time to be hitting those local lakes. They are full of water and the fish are biting!

According to state data it's only 69% full. So someone must have built those structures in the wrong spot.

Your report is appreciated!
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I just got an invite to fish Sonoma, he said the road into yorty is pretty crappy?
Last time we went in under the bridge and saw the end of the apron, so seeing it full sounds like fun...
I would like to do a trip up there  (1.5 hrs out) so what's the better spots to hit without spending half an hour traveling on the water?
Is it true about the road into yorty being trashed?
We have little to no experience fishing this lake but any day on the water is a goodun...
Any tips?
Any day on the water  beats being in town.

The road to yorty is pretty beat up. Single lane lots of big potholes. On a weekend I would mostly avoid the main body, it gets really busy. On a weekday I would do the main body since there are less boats.

Tips wise the fish should still be up on any flooded bushes/trees so flipping something weedless in there should get bit. That’s up in the arms. For the main body dragging a green pumpkin colored jig along points or deep cranking a Shad crankbait is a good bet.
