With Darius going to PI for good and myself going back to work in Sept after a 3 months baby vacay, the guys and I are planning to hit the SMC one last time (maybe). I know its still a week away, just getting the word out. Meetup around 6-7am. And as usual, if the launch is not doable we will proceed to Pigeon Point instead. Channel 69. Out.

For Sale / Ocean Kayak Trident 13 with rudder
« on: August 13, 2013, 09:56:26 PM »
Recently upgraded the wife's yak to a Hobie and no need for my old Trident 13. Purchased from Claveys back in late 2010. It comes with a rudder, Harmony paddle, Eagle Cuda 350 GPS/FF combo and Cabelas 12V 8Amp battery, Plano equivalent box (Cabelas ammo box) with 3 rod holders attached, Hobie seat (lost the original OK seat). I also installed an anchor setup for it. I'll even throw in 4 Jumbo pool noodles. This kayak is always garaged unless OTW of course. I'll leave it posted here for a week before posting on Craigslist.

Asking $1,000. No trades please. Here's a few pics.

General Talk / I need legal Advise
« on: June 26, 2013, 04:37:03 PM »
Sorry to post it here, but I recall that we have a few lawyers in the board or maybe some who can point me in the right direction. Here it goes:
About a year ago, I was driving home late at night from work Going NB highway 1 by Skyline/Pacifica Area. A vehicle from the opposite direction was driving recklessly and hit the center divider sending debris my way. My truck suffered some cosmetic damage while the other party totaled their vehicle. I filed a claim thru my insurance. They paid for the damage repair but I had to pay $500 deductible.
After a year, my insurance co informed me they have to close the claim since the other party wouldn't pay. I told them to send me all the information as I would like to take him to small claims court instead. I found today this other driver was a: driving drunk/drugged  b: have no insurance and c: was recklessly driving around 80-90mph that night.

So, my questions:

1.) Whats the process of taking someone to small claims court?
2.) Would it be wise to contact this person first? My insurance Co gave me his personal info (phone, address,  police report etc). I was thinking if     maybe I should talk to him and collect from him directly.
3.) The damage cost $2,600. I paid $500 out of my pocket and the insurance paid the rest. Am I only suppose to sue him for my $500 or the whole $2,600??

Thank you for all your help. Sorry this is not my dept and very clueless in this subject.

For Sale / Power pro braid
« on: June 20, 2013, 10:20:41 PM »
Cabelas has sale on Power Pro braided line. Their bulk spool of 30# in 1500 yards is only $89 (usually $120). No tax and $5 shipping if you're a card holder. This is great if you're planning on spooling multiple reels. It'll save you money in the long run buying bulk spool. Now you won't have to run mono backing/topshot. You can just fill your spool with braid all the way.

Anyone watches Top Hooker or Extreme Catches on animal planet? Pretty entertaining actually.

My weather advisor friend alerted me of a doable window this Sat at SMC. Hoping the SMC crew would be there. Same stuff as always, if the launch is gnarly at BH then move on to Pigeon Point. Hope to see ya there.

General Talk / GoPro fogging issue -- UPDATE
« on: May 27, 2013, 10:42:26 PM »
I noticed that after about 30mins on the water, the video quality deteriorates due to fog. I tried using rainX anti fog on the inside lens and regular rainX on the outside casing lens. I even put it in a bag of rice to suck out all moisture prior to use but doesn't really do anything. Any other tricks you guys use??

For Sale / 58" Yakima crossbars
« on: May 05, 2013, 08:18:49 PM »
I bought a roof rack kit for my camper last year, but recently upgraded to longer crossbars. No rusts and it doesn't come with the end caps. You can buy those at REI for less than $5 I think. New they run for $89 plus tax. I would like $50 for them. I will not ship, local pickup only. I will be at GS7 with Darius and smokeonthewater

For Sale / Moisture wicking base layers at Sears
« on: March 09, 2013, 08:53:56 PM »
Took the wife to Hillsdale mall to shop and came across some moisture wicking base layers. They're no under armour or Nike, but they look like they'd do just fine. They're Nordictract brand and only $7.99, originally $32 (I think they're cheap, right?).Tried them on (pants and long sleeve shirt, sold separately) and they're very comfy. Now all I need is some kind of cheap, fleece-lined dry liner to go under my drysuit. Would post pics but don't know how with Tapatalk.

General Talk / It sucks when your 4legged buddy dies.
« on: November 23, 2012, 11:48:02 PM »
Talking about a grown man crying in a vet hospital. Our 10yo chihuahua passed today. He's been passing out recently whenever he got excited. He turned jaundiced yesterday and we decided to bring him to the vet hospital today. He died while I was filling out some forms. Never thought I'd get so attached. I even used to criticize pet owners who treat their pets like their own kids. Never knew I'd become one. Sorry, just trying to vent.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / HMB Wed Sept. 26
« on: September 24, 2012, 10:26:55 AM »
Would anyone be interested in hitting HMB this Wednesday? Weather/swell looks favorable with less than 5knots wind and up to 6ft swell. Hopefully stays that way. Otherwise, I'll hit SPR instead for some bass fishing. I never fish the salt by myself.
