General Talk / Re: Best place to buy a drysuit« on: January 31, 2024, 03:01:30 PM »
Through the years I've owned 2 Hydrus suits and 2 Goretex suits. Goretex is a lot more breathable. I base this on how much I sweat portaging gear for surf launches. But then there is the extra cost factor. Do I think its worth it. I say Yes. I am dry and comfortable. It lasts years and Kokatat has a great warranty policy. Just take care of it.

General Talk / Re: Best place to buy a drysuit« on: January 30, 2024, 08:15:50 PM »Outdoorplay has sales on drysuits fairly often. This is the one I have been using for about 6 years: https://www.outdoorplay.com/products/kokatat-supernova-angler-gore-tex-pro-dry-suitThats the same I have. Kokatat now has Goretex Pro which is suppose to be heavier duty as to regular Goretex. I sent my old 6.5 yr old Goretex angler suit for a warranty claim. Kokatat approved it and sent me their brand new latest suit. 37

I have the EBRPD annual fishing pass. I use it regularly at Chabot, Quarry Lakes and Shadow Cliffs because they are close to my house. I am definitely getting my money's worth.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: BFS Trout Setups - worth the expense?« on: December 12, 2023, 08:11:37 PM »I did a quick afternoon trip at Quarry Lakes yesterday from 2pm to 4:30pm. I came across 2 kayakers with high end gear both BFS and on their yaks. They were casting mini spoons. They told me at the boat ramp that between the 2 of them they C&R around 50 dfw trout that were about 8 inches. They stayed in one area near the fishing pier. Here's the kayakers I came across at Quarry Lakes fishing BFS style. https://youtu.be/bl-w1JwhqZg?si=OtpEmmr7SG1g9psT |
