I made an edit to the title and my first post because I didn't want to confuse people looking for AOTY info with a "crappy" debate  :smt044

There are a handful of NorCal lakes that support Sac perch. Biggest I personally came across was this 16 incher, but I caught him from the shore, so no AOTY points. Some Internet sleuthing will unveil most of the places you can find them.

I've seen some pretty big redear sunfish come out of the CA Delta. Bigger than the typical bluegill sizes.

Yeah, I looked up where they are found on the DFG website: https://wildlife.ca.gov/Portals/0/Images/Fishing/Inland/SacramentoPerch/SacPerchSportFullPage.jpg it shows that the north and east of CA have some opportunities. The three spots listed in the bay area are not boating locations to my knowledge.  So sure it would be worthwhile for those that have them nearby to try for them.

For a while now I've thought that it would be fun to have side bets on AOTY for those that want to enter them.  They could be free, or paid and reward those that enter with bragging rights or cash or prizes. The first one I had in mind would be the First to 10 species.  Could also do First to 20.  This would reward the people that put in time competitively without having to wait until the end of the year.  Could also do side bets for biggest of X species, or Top 3 RCG, Top 3 Freshwater, etc.  Anyone else think it would be fun to do side bets?

Sounds good, as long as it includes categories that I can dominate, like "most days skunking" and "fewest fish per mile"...
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...
