have that same model.  watch out for tunneling in the hopper.  the sides arent steep enuff IMO so even if u run it full of pellets there will eventually surface a void over the pellet entry port. and youll wonder hey whys this thing not smoking?? its bc the remaining pellets arent feeding in thru the entry port.  basically manually heap the pellets over the port every 40-60 mins

glad ur enjoyng it all and awesome n generous ncka freecycle. i like mine alot

General Talk / Favorite Restaurant - Tahoe n Truckee
« on: August 07, 2023, 04:10:41 PM »
Extending out from those epic restaurant recommendations started by CDM (RIP)...

Will you pls share your fav places to eat in: 1) South Lake; 2) North Lake, and 3) Truckee area?

I'll start with:
  • Edgewood at Edgewood Tahoe Resort.  Upscale, valet.  If you're into shi shi, they do that pretty well.
  • Charthouse.  OK, so its sort of a chain.  But they sat and served our group of 14, including 6 kids and a crying baby.
  • Jakes on the Lake.  Another instance in which we were thankful to get a reservation for 14.  But then it ended up being a nice service in an awesome environment.  Crappy limited parking.
  • Sunnyside Restaurant.  Boatside patio pub food in a lively environment.  Saw a bear go for a swim while eating a pulled pork taco

Places I wanted to try but didn't:
1. Char-Pit Grill/ Kings Beach
2. Gus' BBQ/ Incline
3. T's Mesquite Rotisserie/ Incline
4. Spindleshanks/ Kings
5. Golden Rotisserie/ Truckee

Enjoy  :smt006

Took out a big mahi loin.
cut into medallions n did it two ways, salt pepper baked w olive oil, then teriyaki smoked on the traeger.

dressed w a ketch/mayo, wakame n masago, or just lettuce.  brioche bun n corn salad.  decent cleanout the freezer effort

General Fishing Tips / mid hull handle replacement
« on: July 09, 2023, 05:41:54 AM »
any tips on how to replace broken riveted mesh handles on T11?

both port n starboard handles ripped, leaving in place the handle bases fastened w dual rivets.

would prefer a fixed/rigid replacement rather than a floppy fabric handle

TIA fir any tips

that shearwater looks great.  the most significant detraction seems to b the 85# bare hull weight.
