I also like the idea of a larger safety flag. I'd take one.

There was an earlier thread about this. I followed someone's instructions about using PVC pipe.
You basically heat it and mold it to the shape of the hull. I used some silicon caulking to stuck it on there. We'll see how it lasts.

Congrats on the first blood! Sounds like a great time!

Loved the video. You make it look so easy!  Nice how the fish is exhausted by the time you go to net it.  No fuss!

Kayak Sailing / Re: TI and AI rear crossbar question

I feel it has to be pretty darn strong when you consider the forces the amas put on them, at end of those long levers (akas), pushing against that 16ft sail and mast.

Not to mention the 200lbs that you are supposed to be able to put on the tramps.  :smt002

In general, what is considered crowding another boat? How close?

I'm pretty new to boat fishing, so boat to boat etiquette is a mystery to me.

Reason i ask us that out in hmb yesterday, there were clusters of boats,  some drifting, some trolling. So how close is too close?  And since trolling seems to be pretty random anyway, how do i not get in somebody's way?

I'm sure the answer will depend on who is in the other boat!  :smt002

Fish Talk / Re: Bitter, bloody tasting California halibut

When gutting the fish, you want to avoid puncturing  the gall bladder. It's filled with nasty smelling and awful tasting bile. That could be the cause of the bitter tasting belly meat.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: New Lucid On-track with 1/4"-20 holes

How wide are these tracks? I don't see the width spec anywhere on the web site.

On  a revo 16 or AI, would this overhang into the footwell area if installed in front of the side pockets?

So it doesn't sound like it's illegal to check that bad boy in,  but does the TSA make it a habit to take a picture of all wierd things they find in luggage? And which ones do they decide to "leak"?

That sail install looks really clean! I like it a lot.

Santa Cruz / What are the current sail options for a g2?
« on: May 22, 2017, 03:21:32 PM »
I know there has been some talk about being able to install a sail on the santa cruz g2, and i think I've seen a prototype video, but are there any production sail kits available?

Ive been thinking of getting an AI, but a g2 with a sail may also fit the bill?
