« on: May 10, 2014, 11:26:03 AM »
Hey everyone
So I have been wanting to upgrade my current eye protection and from what I hear Costa sunglasses are the bees knees but my only issue is the $200+ price tag I know they are suppose to be great and you get what you pay for and all that jazz but I have a hard time ponying up the 200 clams for a pair of glasses so does anyone out there have the hook up on Costa they would like to share

For Sale / WTS-Okuma EVX casting rod
« on: March 03, 2014, 12:07:12 PM »
Up for sale is my 6'6" ML Okuma EVX graphite casting rod got this rod in a trade and I thought I could use it but ended up not needing it it would make a great rod for drop shoting

Price: I would like to get $60 if I can but feel free to make an offer

Description from the Tackle Waerhouse website
"The Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods provide anglers with the precision of a technique specific rod without the big price tag. Each rod's action and taper are adjusted to perfectly match their specific application, providing the angler with the best possible rod for their given fishing pursuit. The rod blanks are constructed from lightweight IM-8 graphite, which is roughly 45 million modulus for added responsiveness, increased power and reduced weight.

Even strong enough to stand up to braided lines, the ALPS stainless steel Guide Frames with Zirchonium Inserts further ensure strength and durability are maintained. Firmly securing your casting reel, the Fuji ACS Trigger Reel Seat, paired with the split grip handle design, helps with weight reduction as well. Only premium cork is used for the grips, ensuring quality comfort and a classic appeal. The Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods provide every angler with the affordable opportunity to own a quality technique-specific rod.

-Backed by Okuma's Limited Lifetime Warranty"

I tried to take pics of the rod but they didn't come out good so I stole some from the Tackle Waerhouse page
The cork grips are a little dirty and I can send pics if anyone wants them

Thanks for poking

General Talk / Rod builder needed
« on: February 09, 2014, 05:09:23 PM »
Hello everyone
I would like to find someone who would be interested in building a custom swimbait rod for me.
I have recently started getting into throwing swimbaits and now I am looking at buying a swimbait rod, only issue is all the swimbait rods I have found are 7'6"-8' long and a rod of that size can be a little too big for me to use in my kayak.
If anyone is interested in building me a custom rod please send me a pm
Thanks
Jason

General Fishing Tips / Black Dog Lunker Punker
« on: February 07, 2014, 10:35:52 AM »
Has anybody used the Black Dog Lunker Punker? How effective of a bait is it? I have been looking at adding one to my collection but I have a hard time shelling out the $20-$30 for one especially if it is just going to be a $20 lure that doesn't catch fish.

General Fishing Tips / Salmon fishing tips
« on: January 19, 2014, 10:50:41 AM »
Might be a dumb question but how do you fish for salmon? I've never done it and I'm not sure where to start. Is trolling a must or can I get it done with a cast and retrieve? All the lures I see look like they're just super flashy am I trying to imitate bait fish or just piss them off with flashy lures till they bite the hook? Lure recommendations? I would like to be able to fish BSS4 maybe not compete to win but just fish for fun.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

General Talk / Winter time pool noodles
« on: January 15, 2014, 12:12:19 AM »
So today (Tuesday) I ordered my Thule rack for my car, (awesome!) and it should be here in about a week or two, issue is I have Thursday off and I want to go fishing. I was thinking "why not just use pool noodles on top of my car to transport the kayak". Only issue is where the heck do I find pool noodles on such short notice in the winter?
Any suggestions?
