Hobie Kayaks / Re: Storage of my new Revo 13

I’ve lived in hot Florida and Central Valley weather and always stored my Revo and Outback on their sides without consequence!

Hobie Kayaks / Re: Pedal Kayak Shoot Out. Hobie Vs Native Vs Jackson

Yup, I’ve had the kind of wobble the Hobie user experienced in the beginning. It was definitely due to improper drive seating, hence the broken nub!

Overall, this was a well put together video. Of course I’m partial to Hobies, but it’s amazing how the pedal-powered kayak market has grown! There’s something out there for everyone.

Interested for a friend, is the boat in Hanford? Any reason you'd be coming up to the bay area?

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

The boat is in Hanford. I wouldn't mind meeting half way, or perhaps at the San Luis Reservoir, if he/she pays the gas.  If your friend is interested, shoot me a pm or text at 559-309-4528.

Wilderness,

Florida is a beautiful state that I shouldn't have left. If you decide to move to the Tampa area, hit me up! I dominated the flats and caught tons of reds and snook. Seriously though, the fishing is incredible!

This baby has caught me many fish from FL to CA. She’s been garage stored and well kept. Incredibly fast and stable kayak for fishing, especially offshore. Standable in calm lakes if you’re short like me!

I've got some friends that traded Columbus, OH for Tampa and never looked back. Dock off the back yard into the gulf, pretty kick ass.

I've only been to FL a few times but my take away from my small sample set was that the further south in the state you go, the more North you are culturally and vice versa.

My other takeaway was that the keys are kinda awesome, but I'm never moving anywhere that has a natural disaster season. I can handle the randomness of earthquakes, but hurricanes/ tornadoes? nah.

I only lived there for 1.5 years, but let me offer further insight. The more instate you go, the more "southern" it becomes. The Tampa and Miami areas are incredibly diverse and progressive.

Relatively affordable, although cost-of-living is rising quite dramatically.

Thats concerning if the wages aren't rising with it. What exactly did you see going up? The real estate prices still seem incredibly low. A livable house for 79k and something incredible around 3,000 sq/ft I wouldn't ever want to even pay the electrical bill on for $350k.

I'm justing thinking if I buy a house all cash I can't go wrong. Monthly bills should be around what $1,200.00? 500 for food, 200 for electricity, 100 for phone, 300 for taxes and insurance, 100 for water/sewer/trash?

Although the housing prices are dramatically low compared to CA, they've been raising above 12% since I left in Dec. 2015, at least in the greater Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg area. Of course, selling a house from Nor Cal would allow you to fund at least two homes along the Westcoast of Florida, depending on what you purchase. What's happening is that foreign investors are hogging the market, so many of my friends are struggling to buy. That might not be a problem if you're paying cash. Also, flood insurance is also very high. Regardless, I much prefer FL. over CA.
