Well done!! I’m hoping to get out this Friday! It’ll be my first attempt at sturgeon fishing.

I did pretty good last Sunday 11/18/18. Got my limit on the yak and my buddies did so too on their boat. we were pretty deep. around 50-60 feet deep. we launched at 7 and ended before 10am. This was our prize bag limit. hope it helps. good luck , be safe and tight lines.

What kind of bait did you use to catch the sturgeon?
We were using ghost shrimp. Hope that helps ripn_lips88

Thank you!

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: HMB 11/17 Report
« on: November 19, 2018, 08:47:50 AM »
After the slow day and perfect conditions last week I wanted to try again. I got a late start after setting my alarm but not turning it on. I was otw about 8:45, at least the boat traffic wasn’t as heavy going out the jaws. There was more swell today, but very light wind and great conditions all in all. Crabbing was still slow but half the pulls had one keeper. Last week I got 4 jumbo males. This week I got 8 males, one jumbo and 7 barely keepers. I was hoping for a limit but the last two were a 16th under. I figured I wanted to be in before it even started to get dark so I headed in around 3:00. It was a good day.

You still did well. Thanks for the report!

Congrats on the bull red! I was an avid red fisherman when I lived in FL. Skinny water fishing is my fav!

Thinking about heading out to HMB tonight to drop crab pots. Anybody wanna meet up? Super last minute, but it’s worth trying!

Introductions / Re: Hello from Fresno
« on: July 30, 2018, 07:55:23 PM »
Hi all,  just wanted to say thanks for letting me join. I've had PB's for 30+ years. My wife and i have been kayaking for over a year and love it. When I concluded that I can catch the all the same fish with a kayak than with my boat , I sold one of my boats, 16' Arima SC. Just got tired of all the maintenance involved, gas, towing, and fees involved in owning a boat, even when it sat, Lol.  We currently have Pescador Pilots, but are soon looking at Hobies. We do a lot of trolling the local lakes for trout, kokanee and Delta stripers, but our love is SF bay halibut, and soon looking to catch my first salmon and yellowtail out of a kayak. It's boring out of a boat.Lol. I  joined to get some good knowledge from all of you and maybe give advise to those looking to buy their first boat or fishing off a boat.

Welcome! I’m from Hanford, and we have a few others from Fresno. Cant go wrong with a Hobie!

Hobie Kayaks / Re: Pedal Kayak Shoot Out. Hobie Vs Native Vs Jackson
« on: July 29, 2018, 01:08:48 PM »
Nothing amazing about it.  The bass tournaments dived into kayak bass fishing in a big way and all the newer kayaks are being designed for that market.

True, very good point. I also noticed that these yaks didn't seem very suitable for offshore conditions. An offshore competitor to the Hobie would be interesting to see!
