Hey all, also posted on another site but I'm having issue with my TLD 10. I did a service on it (first time for me on a used reel) and now when I shift from free spool to drag, I cant get it to drop back into free spool unless I push the drag adjustment knob in or push the spool in.  Kinda weird.  Any one have experiance working on this reel?

Send it into Shimano....  I use to be into servicing my own reels. But honestly it’s just too easy and cheap enough to get it serviced and warranty by Shimano.

AWESOME :smt007!
Just tried the link and did a search, my same issue came right up! Gonna give it a try and report back.
FYI could be the graphite frame swelled tightening up the shaft / key hole.
Its like a finger in a butt hole! TIGHT!
Gonna have to open  er up abit!

That was it! Working great now.  I found the same repair on another site but the symptoms were not explained as well.
Thanks again!

Hey Ice

How much material did you have to remove from the side plate? I've got one with a similar problem.

Cheers,
Brad

Not much at all rolled up a PC of heavy Emery paper and stuck it in the shaft Hole then put s small screwdriver in and spun it checked it with the spool and repeated Untill it went in freely. I might have over done it a little but not by much definitely take your time and check frequently The graphite is easily removed. Also check that the shaft key is not your issue first by removing it and the checking the shaft / hole interface (ha ha shaft/hole interface ha ha). If it is the key try installing it 180* if that dose not work back to the sand paper.
Good luck!
