Nice I'll try that.

Thanks for putting this together Paul and thanks Al for making the GPX files.

I was able to get both files onto the disk and then load both of them onto my Hook 4 as trails,
I was also able to get the 50 Fathoms line to display!

Unfortunately I was unable to get the 20 Fathoms to display despite double checking all the settings and going through transferring that file a second time.

Locally I'm not worried about being near the line but  Fort Ross and North it gets deep real
quick in some spots and cell reception is spotty so can't just rely on the GPS on the phone.

You might try to import 20FA Navionic file.  My old Hook worked for this file only.  Also, remove "Trail 001" before you start.  It might create Trail 001.  When it works properly, you should see 239 points.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Benicia Stripers in Spring?
« Last post by Kiwi Angler on Today at 02:09:20 PM »
I tried a month or so back. Facebook had been lit up with people catching in the delta and the bay. So I figured the same, try in between. And it is an easy drive for me.

At least back then, I was the only one at the launch (so not a good sign). And the water was extra extra dirty. Couple of inches visibility. I was surprised, it hadn't rained that much immediately prior to when I went. Not sure what it will be like now with less recent rain (except for yesterday of course).

If I was to go again, I would check the water with perhaps a plan to drive a bit further if it didn't look good. But also I'm not super familiar with striper fishing. So my read might not be the best.

I'm considering giving it a go tomorrow.  Looks like the least windy place in the area, tides are perfectly timed for a 0900 launch, and it is opposite the commute traffic for me.  Also have a couple new striper lures to try out.

I think there are probably always fish around there, with the big ones migrating back and forth.

But, I am kinda torn... I'm tempted to hit freshwater again.  It's nice wearing shorts and not having all the salt cleanup, haha.

I'm wondering too...  I live here and honestly should just be out there trying more but I've gotten addicted to trying for halibut or jonesing for rockfish, and am probably neglecting striper possibilities lol
