We revere a former member named Mooch who set the spiritual nature of this group, then passed. His original name on the board was hanapa'a.  Welcome to NCKA, hope to meet you soon. I'm in Santa Cruz and fish almost daily.  Come join me.  Usually I'm doing quick beach runs to surfcast.  Hanapa'a is Hawaiian for "Fish ON!" right?

Da mackerel for sure.  I was super tempted to send one down but I had enough bait options to qualify them as by catch yummy grinze.  I filleted em’ and froze em’ to season poke style asap.  Smelt are reserved for when we start eating crow and other unique allowances in the future.  Croaker burgers with a grasshopper flour binder coming to a food truck near you…2030… :smt005 :smt006

People caling for someone to ear it down. I think the ighty Pacific will ake care of that no problem come this winter. If it's really made from all driftwood I guess that's cool.  If it's made with other stuf that's gonna become new trash on the beach, it's not cool.  Transient doesn't mean not fun or cool!

I think this will be my first time as a contestant at the MBK Derby.  Thanks and kudo's Adam and Co. for keeping this tradition going and pushing through when things get tough (like rockfish closures...).  My plan is to troll  two gigantic and somewhat ridiculous lures down to the Hotel area and back.  Maybe a little smelly goo on them.
