Safety First / Winter into summer...
« on: June 09, 2022, 10:10:19 PM »
Yo'. a client asked me to wear a facemask for the toddlers first haircut.  I paused and responded uhhhh...I'm sorry, I will not wear one because I don't need to.  I'm not sick and I know my body.  Grandma and mom were slightly stunned and wondered what just happened.  They were fully N95'd.  Not the child.  Grandma stepped up and authoritatively stated, "ARE YOU VACCINATED?"  I responded,  "Ohhh, that's a personal question, I have natural immunity and I've been through it."

This is the second person to weigh the risk and has walked out to find another barber.  I'm ok with that. Some tear the mask off in freedom and some wear them for personal reasons and some insist that they are still adamant about the effectiveness of policy they believe in.

What a mess navigating people's needs and standing firm on what I've come to believe in serving the public.  Masks are optional in my space and I can find no articles on the opposite position on saying breathe and trust and let's see your face and your smile after 700+ days of this facemask culture...

Bit of a rant... :smt006

Recipes / Halibut Musubi
« on: May 22, 2022, 08:29:56 AM »
No pics yet, just brainstorming a panko breaded seasoned halibut patty wrapped musubi style with Tonkatsu sauce.  Idea inspired by making a mess o' spam kine for my daughter by request of this food item for her high school grad party.

Brainstormy ideas for technique or seasoning if you so choose...

Stay tuned... :smt006

Stealth / Fishing isn't pretty but your Stealth can be...
« on: April 11, 2022, 08:33:24 PM »
Color matching is the highest charge for fiberglass repair.  I scratched up the Stealth on some rocks and you wouldn't notice but I'm a bit of an aesthetic junkie...I may have color matched my yak with fingernail gel coat and made the scratches go away...stay tuned for a daylight test video...UV light, gel polish application after alcohol prep..it doesn't matter with blood in the hatch but I'm learning to take care of my new ride... :smt006

PVC, hardware cloth, lid...I have no idea where to start but I'll look at some pics and I do wonder if any of y'all have done this...maybe as large as a larger garbage can... :smt006

General Talk / Don't get excited...

I love the rain! Real rain!  Reading a good book on the porch, "after a good beer or...", so grateful for a glimpse of a touch of nourishing the land in this strange winter.  Called out the wife, she got the mail and can confess..."it's raining", son on the minecraft saying oh, great, rain...let it go and enjoy the smell...the sound...the hope...let's slay some fish!  Amen... :smt006

Is it as simple as putting the micro sd card from my lowrance hook4  into my hummingbird helix and getting my waypoints just a different format?  I can’t quite make out what I’m reading regarding waypoints…
